Bath & Body Beauty Tip

Exfoliating: not just for the face!

Exfoliating: not just for the face!Exfoliating the entire body brings many benefits. Not only will your skin feel softer and smoother, you will also boost circulation and promote detoxification.

To exfoliate the right way: use a stiff, dry, natural bristle brush on dry skin and use short gentle strokes moving towards the heart.

mushroomcheese wrote: Thu, 2007-09-27 04:47

i heard this before somewhere.. but why towards the heart? *confused*

I think you are meant to go towards the heart because all the blood is pumped in and out of the heart so the brushing also stimulates this. It is the same with when you have a bruise you should rub it away from the area to move the blood vestals away from the spot removing the bruise. If that makes sense

best way i've found to exfoliate, isn't on dry skin, but as you shower. Use sea salt or the new sugar scrubs that smell sooo good! just put some of the sea salt or sugar scrub on a wash mitt & stroke (arms & legs especially)I've never heard the advice about going toward your heart, but if you think about it, this would move fluid toward your heart & help circulation. Talk to someone who does massage!

lisa1 replied: Thu, 2007-10-04 16:54

i don't know why you think this stuff is crap...and why do ppl need videos for this??!
it tells you what to do!
do you NEED a video of someone in the shower scrubbing themselves?
don't think so!

I don't really understand, It should make it a bit clearer what you have to do!

ch_lovin... wrote: Fri, 2007-10-26 17:35

All you have to do is get a body wash or that body sugar by neutrogena put it on a loofa or wash cloth and use it like you were washing regularly.

lechar replied: Sun, 2007-11-04 16:10

Hi! which is better to use for exfoliation, loofa or wash cloth?

ch_lovin... replied: Wed, 2007-11-07 18:48

I use a loofa because it has texture and scrubs better.

ch_lovin... replied: Wed, 2007-11-07 18:51

It might just be personal preference though.

I use a back brush with a exfoliant body wash once or twice a week and it makes the skin very soft.
