Bath & Body Beauty Tip

Rays, Rays, Go Away!

Rays, Rays, Go Away!We all know that UV rays cause signs of premature aging such as age spots, large pores, and wrinkles. But that doesn’t mean you can slap on some sunscreen in the morning and be worry-free for the rest of the day. There are three key application rules all dermatologists recommend to keep your skin safe and youthful.

1. An ounce of prevention—literally.
You need to use a full ounce of sunscreen (think of a shot glass size) to adequately cover your entire body. For your face, a quarter-size dollop should do the trick. Also, use a sunscreen that has SPF 15 or higher. Need to stock up on sunscreen? Read the reviews.

2. Reapply every two hours.
UVA rays actually breakdown sunscreen, which is why you need to slather up every couple of hours.

3. Don’t overlook the nooks and crannies.
The most common places for skin cancer to pop up? Between your toes, on your scalp, and in your ears.

Ok, I can take smelling like sunscreen every day, and maybe even see putting it on every 2 hours.. but how on earth do you apply sunscreen to your scalp without looking like you've gone days without washing your hair???

There are spray in sunscreens that you can purchase and try brushing it in to your hair with your comb or brush. You really need it in your part. A hat is a good idea instead!

I didn't know about the sunscreen you can spray in your hair. That's cool. I was never one for wearing hats.

actually, when i went out with my friends, it was a pretty mild weather out. i got sunburn on my scalp...it hurt! but i don't think they mean to put sunscreen on your hair. they might mean just when your hair is parted...the area where your scalp shows.

I have the spray sunscreen for your scalp. My skin is soooooooo light and I hate getting burned. I wear sunscreen, but sometimes I still get burnt. Any tips? And, If you feel like you`re getting burnt, reapply sunscreen. If you burn, It could cause skin cancer! :(
