Bath & Body Beauty Tip

Quick hair removal

Quick hair removalIf you're short on time but long on unwanted hair, try this time-saving tip: wet your legs with a bit of warm water and apply a thin coating of pure aloe gel. Your razor will glide effortlessly over your skin giving you a smooth clean shave.

Aloe is one of the best skin calming agents in nature and will help prevent or soothe any razor burn. Best of all, there's no need to rinse messy shave gel, just rub any excess gel into your skin and you're out the door in under five minutes!

sporkies replied: Tue, 2007-08-28 08:59

NAIR doesn't work well on me. I tried using it but most of my hair didn't come off.

ch_lovin... replied: Wed, 2008-01-09 11:54

Me neither it just left like a rash with red bumps on my legs and I even tried the sensitive kind.

kimber_skimber replied: Wed, 2009-05-06 10:50

Products like NAIR and VEET don't work for everyone. I'm one of those that has very sensitive skin. Even their products specifically designed for sensitive skin give me little red bumps. My pain tolerance is waaaay too low for waxing, so shaving is about my only option. I'll have to try their suggestion regarding aloe sometime.

katt_meow13 wrote: Sat, 2007-09-08 23:15

Another problem with Nair is it can irritate your skin and then you'll have red bumps on your legs for hours until you skin calms down. It also burns, both when the Nair is on and when you've got the bumps. I have only used Nair twice and I always have to use it the day before I actually have to have smooth legs.

is there another thing i can put on other than aloe jel and nair? like body cream or something? i have a lot of those and i dont want to waste my money so...

meowneko replied: Sat, 2007-11-10 01:15

left over hair conditioner works well too. you can even buy the cheap-o generic stuff like suave for 99 cents on sale!

ch_lovin... replied: Tue, 2007-11-13 16:26

What works really nice is to shave with your body wash. It makes your legs so smooth.

clintonwslover11 wrote: Sun, 2007-09-30 17:56

For me Nair works really good on my arms. You might think Oh gosh!I don't want to nair my arms.It will make the hair grow back thick and dark. But really, I have extremely dark and thick hair and now on my arms it grows back barely visable and I only do it once every couple of weeks..Also on your legs you could use baby oil.It will make them VERY smooth!

sideparted17 wrote: Wed, 2007-10-10 15:10

nair doesnt work at all. it stinks, and who would want their legs to be stinky?? whats the point in having smooth legs if they're stinky?

aloe does work. punkreject777, dont worry about wasting money on aloe. it has more than one purpose; to shave with and to treat sunburn. believe me, its a good thing to have around the house.

meowneko wrote: Sat, 2007-11-10 01:20

if you have thick or course hair on your legs or anywhere else for that matter, (i'm asian) nair simply DOES NOT WORK!!! you have to have really fine hair for depilatories to REALLY work. i've resorted to plucking them out one by one. it takes me a few hours but lasts for weeks! i don't have the money to get waxed or lasered so this will have to do. i even pluck the hairs in the nether regions! after a few times, it doesn't hurt anymore! Hey punkreject, the aloe gel works great to soothe plucked out hair skin too! keep the aloe gel in the refrigerator and it's oh so nice to slather on a sunburn too!

ch_lovin... replied: Tue, 2007-11-13 16:25

Yeah everytime I used Nair(even the sensitive formula) i got a rash all over my legs. Ouch yo pluck....down south too? OUCH!!

racingchic17... replied: Thu, 2007-12-13 20:09

does the aloe gel really work? I shave in the hidden ares and i get razor bumps? Does anyone wax down there?

ch_lovin... wrote: Tue, 2007-11-13 16:28

You know what works realy good guys? To use shave cream on your underarms! It makes them smoother and I don't know about you but I get razor burn easily there and this eliminates it!

maggieerawr wrote: Tue, 2007-12-18 18:48

hair conditioner works very well.
but i find that when using conditioner, you have to shave your legs more often in order to keep the soft, smooth shave.

jessicapw wrote: Mon, 2007-12-24 15:51

I use this hair removal cream and you wait 5 mins for it to dry and then you have this tool thing to take it off. It doesn't hurt, it's for sensitive skin ( which I have real bad so i know it works) and it's awesome.

minimenikki wrote: Thu, 2007-12-27 23:02

That is soo totally cool

ch_lovin... wrote: Wed, 2008-01-09 11:58

I use body wash to shave my legs and I never get razor burn and they always come out smooth even if I shave everyday. I use Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash. I have to shave everyday and being light skinned doesn't help and my hair grows quickly but this works guys!

holland4 wrote: Thu, 2008-07-17 13:30

This sounds so weird but hair conditioner work just as well and make your legs so smooth!

meebling wrote: Thu, 2009-08-06 17:58

i heard off a TV program that if you use normal hair conditioner for a removing your hair with a razor your legs will become soft and and looks better
