A better Cotton Swab?

A better Cotton Swab?We all know the many uses of the humble cotton swab, but if you hate the little fuzzies that it can leave behind, we have news for you! There is a better swab out there! Look for "hard-pressed" or "hard-packed" cotton swabs in drugstores or beauty supply shops that will do a better job of blending makeup and removing smudges.

Hey everyone! What are some good tips on using Q-tips for perfecting eyeliner and mascara? I haven't heard any of these... Thanks!

Q-tips are wonderful for removing smudges if you end up with mascara on your skin instead of your lashes. They are also great if you have eyeshadow in unwanted places, or if you want an even blend on your eye; same with uneven eyeliner. They can also be used to apply creme eyeshadow, concealers, and lipsticks if you don't have a special brush for this already.

There are also special cotton balls that are made specifically for cosmetics. They are loosely packed so they do not soak up the product. These are great for covering larger areas, as when using liquid foundations, creme blushes, etc.

They can be wonderful for removing all of these products when you are using makeup removers, toners, etc. Q-tips are great for removing eye makeup, because you have precise application.

These products work better than most cheap makeup brushes. Likewise, they are a cheaper alternative to more expensive makeup brushes. They are also more hygienic because reusable makeup applicators can breed bacteria if they are not cleaned and/or replaced regularly.

If you want effective, simple, cheap, and easy go for cotton balls, cosmetic pads, and Q-tips.

Great info thanks

Just wodering have you noticed that the qulaity of Q-Tips has gone down since a couple years ago. I remeber them as bing the ones that did not bend like cheeper brands or plastic shafts but I bought a box last weekand they just seem cheeper quality than I remember.

The photo doesn't look like swabs. They look more like pads. Did I miss something?

In response to koolmomof4's question about how to use Q-tips to perfect eyeliner and mascara:
I don't use Q-tips for mascara. I use my fingers or a eyelash comb to get out globs. If there are a lot of globs, chances are that you need to replace your mascara as it has dried out.
To perfect eyeliner, wet the tip with water and squeeze out excess water with your finger. Use damp tip to straighten the lines. Change Q-tips often. I have only tried this with liquid eyeliner.

Hope this works. I learned this from a friend. You go through a lot of Q-tips though.

Another Idea. I have a product that is a makeup remover pencil. It is amazing! I always mess up on my eyes and it takes it right off!! Let me know if any of you need one.
