Guest beauty editor Tia Williams, blogger of Shake Your Beauty, gives us an eye-opening peek at one of fall's biggest beauty breakthroughs.
I've always been more than a little obsessed with major lashes. My fixation could be a result of watching Cabaret and Mahogany repeatedly as a child (Liza Minelli and Diana Ross are clearly the patron saints of the glamorous faux-lash). But I tend to think it's because - and this is the truth, ladies - dramatic lashes instantly make everyone look a zillion times prettier. Seriously! Throw on a pair of false lashes and no one's paying attention to your time-of-the-month acne outbreak or bad hair day! And yet, admittedly, I've found that applying false lashes can be kind of a pain. So, throughout my ten years as a beauty editor (and now beauty blogger), I've been on a constant quest to find a mascara that would really do the trick. I've found ones that give great volume, others that elongate like nobody's business, and still others that give great curl - but I've never found a mascara talented enough to do all of these things at once. Until now.
Enter Lancôme's brand-new, totally groundbreaking Oscillation Mascara (it doesn't hit stores until November, but it's genius warrants a preview). With one push of a tiny button, this vibrating wand wraps each lash in an exquisite lengthening-thickening-curling formula by oscillating a total of 7,000 times per minute! The result? Amazingly lush, seemingly stretched-out lashes that go on forever - no matter how thin, short, or straight your natural lashes are (the formula is so powerful, you won't even need to curl your lashes before applying!). Now, innovation this special requires a new application technique. You don't apply Oscillation like you would a "normal" mascara - you know, jiggle the wand a little, and then swipe upwards with quick, short strokes. Since the wand is already "jiggling," you hold it very steady at the base of your lash, and then slowly drag it up through the ends (for extra length, add another layer just to the tips of lashes). The best part? The battery lasts forever, so you won't need to worry about replacing it. So sit back and enjoy lashes that would make Liza and Diana wail with envy!
Sounds fabulous, daahling... but how much will it COST?
Tia, the marketing group that gave the product "preview" should have also offered a ballpark figure (price range). Guess they figure we women won't care if it blows the budget!
Regardless, good job -- I'll be watching for its debut. :-)
The website states that it'll cost $34. Even if I purchase it, I'm not sure if there is no need for me to curl my lashes because I have "Asian lashes" (naturally straight and stubborn). I'm already having difficulties maintaining the curl by the use of two mascaras and constant curling.
interesting, i've always loved the 'lucscious lash' glamour look so i usually wear falsies from time to time. can't wait to check out this new product.
i think its 2 much for wut it is...I mean sure it'd be amazing 2 use the NEW mascara but you dont need 2 blow the budget 2 get great lashes. Trust me. I have pretty damn short lashes that dont stand out at all but when i use my Lashexact or my sky high Curves mascara it works just fine.
yeah man i meani have that stuff and it totaly works omg; NO WAY!! like i owould of never believed it would of worked like imsoo suprisedd1! :O thanks mtv for pimpimg my ride :)
It really makes very long lashes. It feels very tingley on the eyes when applying. I purchased mine at the mall the other day. Kinda spendy, but really helps.

Sounds awesome, however by the time it comes out in Nov (seeing as it's only early Sept) I'll have completely forgotten about it.
I'll probably try this, but I would like to find a mascara that actually doesn't CLUMP after 3 or 4 uses! Maybe this one won't.
Sounds Great !! Can't wait to try it....
Keep us posted once you've tried it!
First Thing !!
