Help with hair root overgrowth

Help with hair root overgrowthWe all know the recommended 4-6 week maintenance schedule to keep our color looking fresh and those dreaded roots at bay, but who can spare the time or expense these days?

To extend the time between visits to the salon, try changing your usual straight part (which can accentuate root growth and look like an airplane landing strip) to a messy zig zag part. Roots will be less obvious and your hair will still look chic between coloring.

My hair is so staight people think I use an Iron but to get curls I roll tin foil into different width and wrap my hair around it for loose big curls you can do this dry and heat up the foil with your blow dryer like hot rollers or you do it wet and youll get ringlet to medium curls( leave the foil in over night) the foil works good because you can pinch the roots and ends in if you have very fine and slippery hair. separate curls with fingers flip hair upside down and blowdry(heat) to give your roots a boost, body and movement and voila!!

b4 sleep, seperate small pices of ur wet hair& curle it with ur hands, then wrap with a pice of aluminium foil(use in kitchen) .
in the morning ,when u wrap it ,u have curly hair.
by use of hands,gel,...u can make it messy.

do you wrap the hair around the tin foil? that would make glamorous soft curls then just flip your hair upside down after loosening the curls with your fingers and use a little blowdryer heat to lift your roots and give your hair some oomph and body and tada!!! Dead sexy!!

What is the best way for hair removal(all the body)?
What should we do after that(hair removal) to keep skin soft & silky?

i personally have colored my hair and the color last only lasts about a month or less. how can i make it last longer?? help!!

anamiletic wrote: Fri, 2007-09-21 08:34

u can make the colour last longer by using colour lock shampoos and conditioners and a uv sun protection spray in the sun as the sun causes colour fade. Also, if u can stand it, cold or warm water is better to wash your hair with, as ive noticed the colour runs out faster if you wash your hair with hot water.

to azi1982: mix vasaline w/ vitamin E (like the goo in the pills) and rub it on your legs and put on hose and let it set while you sleep (for hands, wear gloves) IT MAKES YOU SO SOFT omgomg...

stacerific123 wrote: Sun, 2007-10-21 13:24

to tintin13: i have no idea, that's weird.. other then to dye i have no idea!

pinkdiamond95 wrote: Mon, 2007-10-22 14:04

No offence to anyone who does dye their hair. But I don't see why everyone feels the need to dye their hair! I think your natural hair colour would siut you best! :)

I have lots of gray which is like wire. The color softns the look and the texture. I cant stand to go without.

I agree but I frost my hair in the summer, it looks good and natural.

sideparted17 wrote: Wed, 2007-11-28 19:00

my hair is extremely straight and it wont scrunch. how do i make a zig zag part if my hair wont look any different? do i curl it too?

lisaeck2004 wrote: Sun, 2007-12-02 01:03

I have tried the zig zag part and it not only makes roots appear to disappear but also makes my thinning hair look fuller up top.

eeastridge wrote: Sat, 2007-12-29 15:42

I have dark brwn hair and lots of gray but not in streaks. The gray is like wire and very unruly. I look like a skunk. I use brwn/blond to hide the gray but it also softns the wiry gray and makes it managble. Cant stand to go without.
