Sneaky Hair Volumizing Trick

comb.gifHair pros travel with an arsenal of root boosters and volumizing styling products to fatten up flat hair. But they all know that coaxing life into limp locks isn't just about what they use, but how they use it. Here’s a quick hairspray application technique that’ll beef up skimpy strands:

Flip your head upside down, then spritz a light hold hairspray onto roots. Hold the can about six inches away from your roots so the mist goes on evenly. Wait 30 seconds for the hairspray to dry before flipping your head back up-this will lock your roots into an upright position and perk them up pronto. Finish up by gently brushing hair into place making sure to not press down too hard or you risk crushing your newfound volume. How easy is that?

I totally agree, I do that like everymorning after straightning my hair. DUH! lolz

gumgum23 wrote: Sat, 2008-04-12 09:37

that works ok but i like to tease my hair with a comb. you just pick up a strand and then tease the bottom half of it. then when you lay your hair back down there is major volume and i gently brush it until it looks nice ☺

This does work but I was wondering if anyone could give any tips for accenting my high layers?

hehe_246 wrote: Tue, 2008-04-22 04:23

how short is high cause my first layer is like up to my chin so i guess thats not really 'high' so to speak but what i can suggest(which is what my friend does) is scrunch your hair up with moose. So what you do is put some hair moose in your hands & then scruch your hair up. I dont know it's really hard to explain without showing you what i mean & if your layers are really short you could even spike it up!

i've got this flat dead straight hair dat has no volume watsoever, its so frustrating...

rayray1996 wrote: Sat, 2008-05-03 13:11

I dont think this will work on me and i need to get hairspray later

xfrenchiebabiex wrote: Mon, 2008-05-05 10:16

it looks good on my hair cause its long&thick but i find spraying&then smoothing john freda serum-shine spray(£4.25) gives it a really good finish, and it's light so it dosent weigh down your hair.

luvdogz wrote: Sun, 2008-05-11 20:05

when my hair is damp i use garnier (or how ever u spell it) smoothing milk, and kinda just lift my hair and then i towel dry. then i use hairspray and it gives me volume and good smelling hair..lol
