Lips Beauty Tip

Pucker-up! Pumping up your pout

Pucker-up! Pumping up your poutBoost your pouting power at home by applying cinnamon! With a moistened cinnamon stick or a pinch of the ground spice) apply it on your lips before your lip color.

You can also try one of the many new lip plumping products on the market today. Try one that contains niacin which causes veins to dilate, thus increasing lip volume.

debruth wrote: Thu, 2007-10-11 07:43

For anyone who's tried the cinnamon thing, does it make your lips burn? Also, how long will it plump the lips up?

muakisseslolo wrote: Thu, 2007-10-11 11:57

heyy. does this work with lipgloss?

or just... lipstick?

mothergoose1 wrote: Thu, 2007-10-11 15:50

Yes, there is validity to the claim, but the effects sad to say are only about one-two hours in length. You definitely will want to use lip-COLOR on your lips unless your skin tone can accommodate the darker color of the cinnamon, and it (the spice) is uneven in color when you put it on your lips. There is a mild tingling feeling, not burning unless you have cracked lips. All in all, it's worth trying!

The cinnamon sticks work pretty well but only for a short period of time. What is it in the cinnamon that has this affect on our lips?

maugecita wrote: Fri, 2007-10-12 18:45

if anybody try it please contact me, in my country is very difficult to buy those plumping products...does it work?!!

mothergoose1 replied: Sat, 2007-10-13 07:26

Yes it works. The effects are not "Angelina Jolie" and last for only a couple of hours but are noticeable. Wear your favorite shade of lipstick over it to really get the "full" effect.

makeup222 replied: Sun, 2011-05-01 14:51

It works great! Last night i put on TONS of it then took it off a while later and my lips are still plumper! it stings and burns at first though, but that feeling goes away.

Sally Hensons thin lip treatment is the bomb! It's the best lip plumber I've ever used.

racingchic17... replied: Thu, 2007-12-13 19:53

How much is it?

tanianicole101 replied: Fri, 2007-12-14 07:27

oooh, I gotta try this and the cinnamon thing, too!!

Also, if you have your favorite lipsticks, get a small weekly medicine dose container, like the ones that have 7 separate little compartments in them, one for each day of the week.

Melt your lipsticks one at a time and mix in the cinnamon and lip gloss, too, if you want. You can do this right in a regular saucepan on the stove on very low heat, and it's not a messy thing.

Pour the mixture into the Sunday compartment. Then do your next favorite lipstick and cinnamon mixture, and pour it in the Monday compartment, and so on.

This way you can carry 7 of your fave lipsticks with you in your purse all in one neat little container. You will need a lip brush though, or Q-tips to apply the lipstick.

mjforever wrote: Tue, 2007-12-11 17:51

lucky6479 wrote: Wed, 2007-12-26 22:22

I also think that Sally Henson's lip products work well.

sumergyrll wrote: Sat, 2007-12-29 16:50

CAUTION: Yes i tried the lip plumping lip gloss from bath and body works....worked beautifully on my sister who has normal/thin lips. I on the other hand have thick and full lips. I tried this on Christmas day and it lasted for two days looking as if i had been punched in the face.Dont use w/ full lips.

xkaityx wrote: Wed, 2008-01-02 21:40
