Red is a fabulous color on the toes but is less forgiving and messier than sheer shades. Definitely do not skip on using a toe separator; it's a must.

I don't own a toe separator, I use roll up tissues and put it between my toes. Come to think of it I should just get a toe separator, it would save me the time and trouble and I'm sure they have them cheap at the dollar store.

Ahh, what's the tip? 'red is a fabulous color?' what do you mean by its less forgiving?
you need to use a toe separator because sometimes it's harder to get red or dark colors off the skin. That means "less forgiving"

wow i have a story! hah..
once i was painting my fingernails red on my moms granit bathroom counter, and she was like ... i think you should put a paper towel under that.. well thank god i did because when i was using my wrong hand i went to flip the brush and it rolled right out of my hand! aha so yea, red is messy! haha
