Skincare Beauty Tip

Moisturize and Wait

Moisturize and WaitDo you use facial moisturizers? If so, moisturize at least 20 minutes before applying your makeup or else your moisture thirsty face will absorb all your makeup along with the moisturizer.

ok, ive tried it.. but why does it not work. it just makes my skin look and feel even more dry

If you put on moisturizer 20 mins before applying your foundation and you ended up looking like you have dry skin this could mean a couple of things. Could be that your moisturizer is too light or not rich enough for your skin type. Basically your skin is soaking it all up and asking for more. The other thing it might be is that you're dehydrated. You'd be surprised how many people are not drinking enough water on a regular basis. Drinking 8 glasses water daily really is a good beauty habit because when you don't drink enough it really does show and you end up with dry looking skin. I've got the same problem, I put on moisturizer, wait, then put on foundation and my skin ends up looking dry. I have found that using a heavier moisturizer and drinking enough water helps. Also using moisture rich foundations work well. I really liked Rimmel Hydrasense. I found that when I used that my skin had a more moist almost dewy look. I also use Shisedo wet/dry foundation sometimes but always applying it wet (if I put it on dry my face looks dry for sure). Hope that helps!

is dream matte mousse a good foundation? like, healthy for your skin?
xx

swild replied: Thu, 2007-05-17 00:47

dream matte is loose and light. its not heavy enough to cause breakouts or anything, and the colour is so rich you only need to apply a tinsy bit. i love the stuff, but its best used on the face from the eyes down, the colour is stronger on the forehead.
i hope that helped

heather15goddess wrote: Fri, 2007-10-05 19:12

yeah moisture ur face before aplling make up AND WATCH THE ACNE POP UP (ur just opening the pores so they can collect all that makeup a litle easier)..u don't want that do u?

sideparted17 wrote: Sat, 2007-10-06 08:12

what i do for a moisturizer is i do a toner. you get a bottle of witch hazel ($8-15 at drugstores) and a bottle of rosewater($5-10 at drugstores) and mix them together. you soak a cotton ball in it and rub it all over your face. i do it every morning and it totally works! my skin is smooth and i have no breakouts. try it. it really works.

jessicapw wrote: Mon, 2007-12-24 06:31

I used this technique. Usually after I've worn make-up i go a bit spotty, but then i did this and the moisturizer is a sort of base and stops your make up going to sploggy.

jessicapw wrote: Mon, 2007-12-24 06:33

I would like to say a big thank you to OscarKitty because the comment she wrote for this tip was really helpful, it was much more helpful then what MakeoverSolutions has wrote.

My skin is really dry I moisturized every day but it didn't really work so I tried scrubbing my face with sugar and then moisturizing, it made my face real soft and I was really impressed. I've only been doing it for a few days but my chin and cheeks are real soft and everyday my skins getting better!
