This works well, But I think what also works well is Burts Bees lip balm. It takes care of the rough areas and also has a tingly menthol taste. After a while it makes my lips really soft. Just right for appling lip colour.

I have awful dry lips. I have tried a lot of things and nothing seems to work. I will give the Burts bees a try.

I completely agree! i use burt's bees beeswax lipbalm and it works great...i love the tingle it gives you too...And a combo of vaseline and BB's lip balm works great!...unfortunately, tho, i have done what the tip suggests before, and altho it does work, all of the dry skin takes a few days to come off completely, i had these long bits of soft skin hanging around and it was SO difficult to fight the urge to yank it off! so, be patient. tc

$3-$4 but it works. Comes in different flavors...honey..pomegranate....medicated with pepermint oil..yummy!

Hey, I swear by dct! I use it everyday, all day. I have one in the car, one in the house and one in my purse. I love it and my lips never get dry. DCT (Daily Conditioning Treatment) it's by Blistex in a little pot at the counter usually.

I suggest using a SOFT toothbrush and brushing in a cricular motion. This tip does work great. This has already been posted on but with one of the ford models. It does work! The Burt's Bees Wax Lip Balm is great. I love the Pomegranate one.

I love this stuff! this stuff really does work. i just put it on this morning and my lips are still smooth! not dry like usually. :)

animasola3o4 replied: Tue, 2008-01-29 13:48

Or you can put the vaseline (or chapstick of any kind) on your lips, then take some sugar and scrub your lips. It's what I do, and it works very well.

ch_lovin... replied: Tue, 2008-01-29 17:30

mmmm. Sounds good.

joanne516 replied: Thu, 2008-02-07 06:58

vaso;ine does work great...i'm alergic to all lip products so i started using it at a young age...and i haven't had chaped lips in about 10 yrs

ahorse2 wrote: Thu, 2008-02-14 18:51

if u put vasaline on atoothbrush and scrub twice a day it works real well

brontegabriella wrote: Sun, 2008-02-17 13:59

I often find that this is waaaay to harsh on my lips, so heres what I do, and it works so much better:

- Get a bit of table salt or caster sugar (depends on your taste!!)
- Then get a bit of olive or almond oil, both work just as well. Add this to the salt/sugar and mix with a spoon.
-Then put this mix on your lips and massage GENTLEY!
- Wash your lips
- ET VOILA!

Make sure you moisturize your lips afterwards - Burts Bees is fantastic but then again so is Vaseline. Hope this has helped :)

I noticed that when this tip was shown prior and I tried it, that is what harsh on my lips as well. This might work better but I switched to a soft toothbrush and put moisturizer on my lips and didn't massage as hard. Great tip though.
