As a make-up artist and esthetician, the best beauty gift for me is a gift card to a beauty store, such as Sephora or MAC. It is so much fun to pick out a beauty product that I find appropriate for me. This year my hubby purchased a MAC gift card for me. I cannot wait to shop for some goodies.
Now, I am planting a seed for him to buy me a Sephora gift card for Christmas. :-)

The best beauty product I've been given was a MAC powder and eyeliner from my grandma. They aren't my favorite products, although I do love them. The reason they're the best gifts is because I had been thinking the day before that I wanted to try out those MAC products. The next day, I went to visit my grandma and she had bought them for me! Great giveaway! My best beauty gift ever was a few years ago from my husband. He arranged an all day spa outing for me with a facial, massage, manicure & pedicure. It was in the form of a gift card so I was able to choose which day was best for me. It was a great gift!

The best beauty gift that I ever received? well I haven't really received any beauty "gifts" that I know of ...but I did get a gift of advice from my mother. "Oil of Olay" She has used it all her life and at the age of 70 she looks AMAZING! All my life everyone has always said how young my mother looks. Now that I am older and a mother also..I too have been using Oil of Olay (thank you Mom:) and just the other day I had a cashier at Meijer tell me "OMG you must've been a child bride!!" (btw...I have two teenagers, 1-20 and 1-16:)

My best ever beauty gift was a gift to the SPA. I had never gone before and this was such a surprise from my boyfriend. He didn't just get it for me he got a package for 2 people so I got to take my mom. Scored big points for him. We got a nice long facial and hot stone massage. The best gift ever!

I received an Ojon Winter Shine & Protect Ritual Kit for my birthday recently, which was pretty cool for curly winter hair. My aunts used to work in department stores & they were keen to use their employee discounts- I remember being drenched in Lauren, for one! :D
But my favorite is a spafinder gift card I have tucked away, because I'm still dreaming about how to use it!
I guess - for real - my best beauty gift wasn't really a thing so much as a sense that my mom & grandmother & aunts gave me when I was quite small, which is that I am beautiful. Beyond looks & beyond the surface, I mean, they just made sure I had confidence. And that's so important for ALL girls.

My best friend is an esthetician and owns a mini spa in Germany. A few years ago she came her to visit and brought me several Dr. Hauschka skin care products. I've been hooked ever since. If I could only choose one of them it would be the cleansing milk. It has a wonderful scent and is just the right consistency to take off make-up, including mascara and it doesn't sting the eyes. The hand cream is also a favorite. Again, the scent is wonderfully unique-based in rose but not rosey. I get so many compliments when I use it at work. Added plus-it does not leave a greasy film on hands.
I have tried several different cleansing milks and hand creams trying to find something a bit cheaper but keep going gack to Dr. Hauschka. I've decided to stick with the products I love. The are packaged nicely, smell beautiful and work.

Last year for Christmas I was working for a really mean rich lady, very "The Devil Wears Prada". I got yelled at all the time and cried on numerous occasions as her office manager. She would make me sit in a certain seat during our lunch hour, tell her when I was going to use the ladies room, make me set the kitchen table for all of us to eat at for lunch, organize the pencils in the supply drawer a certain way and keep massive amounts of files on her personal life (2 paper copies, 1 electronic copy, 1 original). It was the worst job I have ever had. Well, my bday is Dec 19th, after she forgot it was my bday and spent the whole day yelling at me to the point of crying for Xmas she got me a $600 gift certificate for a facial, mani/pedi and haircut at the Julien Farel salon in NYC and around $300 worth of Laura Mercier bubble baths and matching lotions! Ka-ching! I deserved it!
It didn't make up for the torment but it did ease the pain a bit.....

Last yr hubby had no clue what to get me since I always tell him nothing, so He picked me up the Ped Egg.
I absolutely love it. He wrote me a note which was really cute: " I didn't know what to get you since you didn't want anything, so don't think you have nasty feet because you don't. It's just I know u like to take care of your feet and make them nice so I thought you would like this."
I thought the note was the cutest along with the good idea for a small gift.

One year for an early Christmas gift, my sister took me for my first pedicure. After a busy day of Christmas shopping, it was the perfect gift and an incredibly relaxing experience. We spend so much time trying to make everyone else happy that we have a tendency to forget about ourselves. It was the first time that I had been pampered and realized just how important it is to be pampered every so often. Now, I get pedicures every couple of weeks. It is my pampering time; my gift to myself.

My BEST EVER beauty GIFT was one I gave to my daughter. It was a basket with with 3 or different kinds of lipgloss, a palette of eyeshadows and blush, and a vanity mirror. The best ever beauty gift I received was from my older sister. She was a make-up goddess, and I definitely was not. She gave me a complete beauty make over including my hair and nails! The best gift I received was a spa certificate which included a facial, massage, lunch, manicure and hair styling. I gave the same certificate to my daughters and we have a day out together getting relaxed and beautiful.

The best beauty gift i ever got was my very first make-up set.
I was 12 years old, and my grandmother bought me a make-up set for christmas, it was the really tacky ones with the black (grey) and pink and blue eye shadow, orange and pink lipstick and orange and pink blush.
My mother hated it with a passion, she thought i was way too young for makeup.
Now at 38 years old, i love beauty products, and my grandmother instilled that in me early, i will never forget what she did and how she opened my eyes with one simple present that meant the world to me.
This year, i have bought my neice a similar make-up set, and i hope she has as many wonderful memories from hers as i have from mine.

The best beauty gift I ever received was "Beautiful" by Estee Lauder from my husband. I wore it for a number of years after he gave it to me when our children were small. Through the years I have worn other fragrances but I always had Beautiful available. About two years ago, my daughter (now 18) hugged me after I took a shower and applied the body lotion. She told me how much she loved the scent on me and that it was the scent she always associated with me. Then two of my boys agreed that they always remember me smelling of Beautiful. The best "beauty" gift I ever got was from my kids.
Several years ago I suffered from severe depression and was under a "suicide watch". My now adult children were ages 10 and 12 and had saved their allowance for months to give me a spa day for Mother's Day. They put a salon gift card into a handmade Mother's Day card complete with poems about how beautiful I was and how much they loved me and just wanted mommy to be happy again...
That act of love, sacrifice and selflessness was the begining of my ascent back into the "living". I have never felt more beautiful and loved than I did at that very moment as my children presented me with the gift of life with complete and unconditional love.
I've come a long way since then, and am confident in my self and my looks most of the time. Anytime I start to feel depressed or my self esteem suffers because I begin to compare myself to others...all I have to do is recall the love in their eyes and their genuine belief that I am the most beautiful woman in the world and I can't help but feel beautiful - from the inside out!
It's a gift I recieve every day.

The best beauty gift I ever received was.....it's a toss up between 2 items. When I was in my teens, my mother gave me a large tube of Clinique Sunscreen with an SPF of something like a zillion. Since then, regardless of the season, I never leave my home without wearing sunscrean under my make up. 20 years later, I'm very thankful for that gift because my skin looks the same today as it did back then.
My second best beauty gift is my clarisonic face cleansing brush. This gift was very expensive and I was very tempted to return it to Sephora for some beautiful eye and lip palettes I had my eyes on. Luckily, I listened to the advice of many who regularly used the clarisonic and I gave it a shot. After using it once, I was hooked. Within a few days, the texture of my skin had completely changed and my skin was glowing.

The best beauty gift I got (and I haven't gotten many) would probably be a department store makeup kit that my mom got me when I was 13 that had 3 tiers that folded out on each side and a bottom drawer for all the brushes.
I wasn't allowed to wear makeup until then, so when i got it I was finally able to go crazy and really experiment with it. Granted, there were several days I ended up looking a little clownish (I was 13, after all) but it was still a nice coming of age gift.

to be honest, i'm having trouble remembering the last time i ever received a beauty gift. presents tend to be quite practical now. i think this needs to change! i do remember when i was a little girl, receiving a variety pack of flavored lip balm. i think that was the last time! :)

Best beauty gift I ever received was from my mother when I was 12.....She was putting her makeup on one day and at that age I wanted the real thing not the barbie play makeup....she seen me sitting behind her watching her in the mirror and she turned around and gave me her very expensive tube of lipstick and said a woman can never go out of the house with at least putting on lipstick....it was the one of the most memorable moments in my childhood.....thanks mom and to this day I never leave the house without my lipstick :)

I have to agree with Megan, everyone needs a little "me" time! I love to be pampered, at least when I can get the chance - with work, school, family, and a baby on the way it isn't easy! I would have to say that my best ever beauty gift was from my husband, which was amazing and unexpected. We were in Victoria's Secret last year and I told him how much I liked the lipgloss and body butter. However, I wasn't able to buy any at the time. The next week a package came for me in the mail with my name on it, containing at least one lipgloss and body butter of each scent! I loved it!

The best beauty gift I ever received was a Bare Minerals foundation starter kit. I had been playing around with different powders/concealers for years, but never found anything that made my skin look very good. My sister bought this for me as a gift after trying it herself, and I have been hooked ever since! I have some red splotches and uneven skin tone on my face, but you would never know it when I wear this foundation! It does more than just cover up trouble areas and even out skin tone, it makes my skin look truly radiant!

The best gift ever was a hot wax pedicure I received from my mom when we were caught in a terrible storm in Mendocino on my birthday. Trees fell, and the spa had tons of cancellations which we took advantage of. My mom was right next to me having a hot rock pedicure.

My best ever beauty gift was Sephora's apple pomegranate body wash and body butter. I happen to love the scent of fresh macintosh apples and can almost never find anything (potpourri, air fresheners, candles, lotions, etc.) that doesn't have a spice mixed in or it'll smell more like a perfume than apples. These products have the most amazing scent. It is my absolute favorite items that anyone can ever get for me!

My best beauty gift was my first makeup set. It was sooooo cute. I was like 11 or 12 and my mom bought me what was probably a $15 makeup compact. But to me it signified a giant step into womanhood. I remember I could open it up and have choices of eye shadows, blush, gloss, and it came with a little brush and a tiny mascara. There was a little compartment hidden below with more colours. I kept it long enough to get a rash from using the mascara too long!

I had actually went in with my older cousin just to look around and find stuff for her and her mother inlaw for christmas and we passed by the bare minerals section and she told me how great it was so i was amazed by this product, but i didnt think anything of it because i didnt have money for it and she wasnt shopping for me. I waited for her outside sephora with my nephew because he wanted icecream and when we got in the car she gave me my new makeup set and said she couldnt wait to give it to me on christmas because she saw how much i wanted it. that meant alot to me and that is seriously by far the best beauty gift ive ever gotten.

The best beauty gift was from my mom when I was in middle school. I still remember it, she got a basket and filled it with all kinds of beauty products, she got drug store and department store brands. It had everything, skin care, make up, lotions, and hair products. But the best part was that she made her own rating sheet for me to use with each prodcut so I could see what worked the best after I had used and scored everything. It was so much testing each product out, I still have that sheet now for when I think about trying something new. I would love to give her a gift like that someday.

I just wanted to say my best present was when my son was young, he went on a trip with my sister and her family and they stayed at a motel well he brought home the soap and gave it to ask as a present and he thought that was craziest thing that they would leave you stuff to take home. Beauty gifts? I don't really remember receiving any beauty gifts. Although I do remember when I was younger, probably 14 or 15, my mom took me to the Clinique counter and let me get my makeup done. I never really wore makeup growing up and I was so excited that I got to sit there, and the Clinique woman put foundation, eye shadows and mascara on me with some lipstick. I felt so important being able to just relax and watch how she put each item on me, and watched the little details of using certain brushes and sponges to even out my skin tone and turn me into a whole new person. I also remember my mom encouraging me to try different colors or making sure I was ok with how everything was being applied to my face. I loved it, and still to this day I remember that feeling.
It's nice to give to others as well as to take time for yourself and make yourself happy in these stressful times. Once in awhile I go to Victoria Secret & I buy their lip gloss. I always buy one for me, and one for one of my friends. She has told me that is the only time she gets that type of lip gloss and loves it!

My best gift ever was in 2002. The gift was to see my family happy. I had gotten hurt on my job in Sept. and had to go off work. I hadn't been getting paid any money, so my mom knew I couldn't buy my kids any presents. A few days before Christmas there was a knock on my front door. I opened it to see some women dressed in elf costumes with presents in hand. They were from a secret santa program that brought presents for my kids and a Christmas tree with decorations too! I was so happy that my kids had a Christmas to celebrate. This was the best gift ever.

The best beauty gift I ever recieved was last year (not xmas time) while I was in the hospital recovering from major surgery. I was sad, medicated and feeling horrible. My best friend came in to visit me, said she had a surprise for me. She said she knew I was feeling blue, puffy and bloated and she was there to brighten my day. With the dramatic flare that she's known best for, she presents a bottle of the gaudiest orange nail polish I had ever seen and promptly ordered me to stick my feet out. She proceeded to paint my toe nails and in this atrocious hue chatting constantly the whole time. When she was done she says, voila, and to tell the truth it was absolutely horrible, but I loved it! Every time I looked at my nails the rest of my hospital stay I smiled. She had not only brightened my toes that day when I was feeling down,but my friend brightens my life. Anytime I feel like I need a pick me up, I paint my toenails in this color that I now love. So all in all, the best beauty gift I have ever recieved was the gift of friendship (and ugly orange nail polish).

I am a proud mom of 3 girls, one 18, one 13 and one 8. my girls know how candles and lip gloss saves my sanity on so many days, so it makes it extra special when the remember me with enough to get me through to the next holiday. That freebie was usually a great tray of cosmetics with eye shadows, blushes, mascara, eyeliner, nail polishes... All in co-ordinating colors. My aunts passed the trays to me as Christmas or birthday gifts and I would have all of my cosmetic needs taken care of for the year!

FOUR WORDS: Boscia Recharging Night Moisture...I have rosacea, and this is the most calming, moist, lasting product ever. And I only found out about it because I gotta teeney-weeny sample in a Sephora order. Now I'm a total Boscia convert. :)

My best beauty gift was a gift certificate for a Merle Norman makeover and enough cash to cover an entire new "look." Call it my make-up gateway drug... It opened up an entire realm of cosmetic possibilities. (It was my first non-drugstore experience.) I am now a serious Sephora addict! :)

I don't get many beauty gifts, but I know what my favorite was!! An Avon hairbrush that my grandmother bought me when I was 12 years old. I love the wide shape, and the bristles work perfectly through my thick but fine hair...does that make sense? I bought the same hairbrush for years, until a few years ago when they discontinued it, and I bought a half dozen of them which I guard with my life now!!!! I'm way overdue for a new look, and I've recently lost over 30 pounds, and would love to try some new beauty items to go with my new figure!!

A Playschool beauty station!! Fully loaded with fakefakefake make-up and peel-off nailpolish. Fruit scented, I would do it over and over again. Thanks Santa, those are some of the best memories!

My best gift was probably a large Caboodle back when they came out in the late 80s. I had a pink and green one, and loved it very much. I didn't have the desire to wear make-up until I got that awesome case. Then I got the desire to fill it to the brim :)

My best ever beauty gift was a gift basket I received for my birthday a few months after having my daughter. A little lotion, makeup, and especially the Calgon was just the pampering I needed to wash away the toll all those sleepless nights had taken.

The best beauty git I got was a bottle of Naturele Hemp Shampoo and a bottle of conditioner. My fiancee knew that my favorite shampoo and conditioner could no longer be found, so one day he grabbed this stuff on a whim. It's the best I've used in years! My mop loves this stuff!!

My best ever beauty gift was make-up from Laura Geller. I have to say her products are amazing, they give off a beautiful highlight in natural light - I really can't say enough good stuff about the few products I have used from her collection. Alot of you may know her best from seeing her on HSN, or if you live in the New York area she owns a make-up studio there.
The packaging the make-up comes in is beautiful, and my favorite product is her blush Golden Apricot blush. It stays on all day and it looks so natural. It has a silky texture and so easy to apply. She has a wonderful line of baked products that are handcrafted in Itally. I guess it starts off in a liquid form (from the finest ingredients) and is baked. However it is made, I know it's by far some of the best products I have ever used!
I really would love to win this package. Lately, times are tough and I haven't been able to pamper myself with new make-up and beauty products. I am a single mom of 3 little ones and I am in desperate need of some new products and a little TLC.

The greatest beauty gift that I ever received was a custom made gift basket from one of my bestest girl friends!! She put together a basket of all of her very favorite products and tools, and a letter explaining why she chose each one for me. It was amazing!
