Foods That Help You Lose Weight

Many wonderful foods, herbs and spices facilitate weight loss and help preserve muscle. Check out my picks for the top foods that aid in weight loss.

Apples
Despite their relatively high sugar levels, apples actually exert a stabilizing effect on blood sugar, thanks in part to their high fiber content, but also because they contain phloretin: a blood-sugar-stabilizing phytonutrient found exclusively in apples.

Salmon
Wild Alaskan salmon leads the pack in helping us to shed weight and keep it off. It's rich with flavorful, healthful omega-3 fats, which makes it a top weight-control food. Sardines and anchovies are also great sources of omega 3's.

Beans and Lentils
Legumes--dried beans, lentils and company--prompt burning of body fat, stabilize blood sugar and have more protein than other plant foods. They also burn body fat and provide energy and protein! A meal with legumes raises blood sugar slowly and moderately, making you feel fuller for longer.

Yogurt
Calcium is important in weight loss, especially dairy foods with probiotics, such as yogurt. In a recent clinical study, participants who ate yogurt lost about 10 pounds of fat and an inch and a half off of their waists, compared to six pounds and a quarter of an inch lost by those who just took calcium supplements. Sixty percent of the yogurt eaters' weight loss was lost abdominal fat, the hardest to lose. Finally, yogurt was about twice as effective at preserving muscle, the only kind of tissue that burns calories while your body is at rest.

For quick weight loss, eat toilet tissue. It works!

I love how the skinny model is pretending to eat a morsel of food.. Good acting!

R U kidding?!? It works if what you're trying to do is end up in the hospital with an obstruction!! That very subject was on "My Strange Addiction" recently. Wise up!!

Only if you've confused your mouth with your anus. At least try to keep what's coming out of it to yourself, because someone might take it seriously. Seriously, do wise up before it's too late.

How does consuming toilet paper aid weight loss, what are its contents; and what proof is there?

A diet of 2 cans of light in water tuna, with a bit of light miracle whip and bit of mustard, will only have1-3 g of carbs per can with that added and lets face it that is great it also has just a bit of fat but it is good fat from the tuna also you can eat 1 piece of bread so you still get the carbs you need a day, and choose a light bread wheat not white, and low carb one. Also I recommend eggs they are great there are no carbs in eggs unless you eat more then 4 at a time. You can poach them in water straight into the pot and just make sure you drain them well and leave them so they are about half done in middle so you still get the taste of yolk and add tad bit of salt and pepper and maybe 1 piece of toast.

So breakfast have 1-2 poached eggs "I eat two", 1 piece of toast, and if you are really hungry then have a banana, or apple slices. Or 1 piece of Toast in morning and a can of tuna.

For lunch try a tuna fish salad, with or without boiled eggs as I said recommend using a bit of light miracle whip if you don't like tuna that well. You can also have Tuna steaks just use health oils to fry them up or bake them but going to be honest a little bit of good healthy oil and fried in pan tastes so good. Also a Salmon steak is great as well.

Also I eat shrimp salad a lot. Salad is great for a change for meals. If you notice chicken and turkey breast hardly have any fat or carbs you can add these in your salad along with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, brocoili, carrots, and mushrooms.
Also recommend getting some form of protein foods that do not contain high amounts of fat, and hardly any carbs this will allow you to keep your muscle but loose the fat.

Make sure you drink enough, water is great, lemon water is even better for you will make you loose water weight easy and also it is good for detoxing your body form yucky things. Also suggest if you are hooked on soda wether it is diet or not just leave it alone, replace it with tea, and if you can't take tea without sugar then use substitute sugar and if you can't handle that then just use a small amount just enough to where you can drink the tea but not have a sugar buzz. Also warm tea during lunch or dinner is nice like earl grey try that I love it. Also if you are going to drink change to skim milk. Milk is great for vitamins but at the same time it has lots of fat if you are drinking vita D milk, or even 2 percent.

If you are hungry and are craving potato chips then replace them with a fun sunflower seeds yes they do have a bit of fat in them but they are good for you at the same time just don't eat the whole bag, or replace them with banana chips they are nice and sweet and no sugar added it will taste like you are eating candy.
Also no diet drinks that you see in the supermarket they claim to make you loose pounds but you can;t replace food for that its not healthy, and also look at the labels women there are so many carbs in them just for one you could eat a whole meal and probably still not consume that many carbs.

Stay away from starchy foods, yes potatoes have starch but if you take small potion of just baked potatoe add salt and pepper, chunk them up and eat them on the side with a small salad they are really good.

Also try chicken stir fry with lots of veggies but use steam and water to cook them not oil or fats. Use fresh veggies so you know what your putting in your body.
I can't stress enough that most peoples will power will give out on a diet like this after a month so just take 1 day every two weeks and ahve one bad thing and get it out of your system but do it in moderation.

Also cut your potion size from say 100 percent to 50 then down to 25 and you will have the correct amount you are suppost to be eating and your tummy will shrink and get to used to the idea and you wont be as hungry trust me. But as I said do it slowly so you are not starving.

These are my tips I still get my vitamins and eat healthy and I am satified not miserablely hungry

Any ways try this out for a month you will see results and if you get bored of some of these food ladies this is the internet look for low fat, and low carb in a food and also high in protein, and fiber, and also find something that is good for you that you can snack on so you can curve those cravings.

What about the trail mix snacks...i.e. dried cranberries, raisins etc

I love all of these tips! It definitely makes for a healthier lifestyle. I've heard that when you're trying to lose weight, you should cut out alcohol. I think that's one of the hardest things to do because sometimes you just want a drink on a Saturday night. My best friend just told me about Voli light vodka. I looked at the website and it looks so good! its 40% fewer cals than your avg vodka. I can't wait to try it!!!

I lost 145 lbs in 1 yr by going to 5-6 small meals a day.I did cut back o n diet pepsi but still can't totally give up. Its hard at first with the family but the results are great. Just remember small meals, lots of fruits(strawberries and grapes help various ways to cut appitite) and veggies steamed or raw, just comon sense things we learned in grade school. I start with toast and end at 7pm with fruit..in 2 weeks you will see a difference. Remember... spread the food out every few hours and you will never be hungry. And my Dr did approve of my diet and it doe not cost anything to try it.

We should always take into our mind that it is very important to eat just healthy foods and select what are best to maintain or to lose weight. Visiting a dietitian or a professional nutritionist may also help in choosing the right and healthy foods to eat.

You must eat fruits that are rich in fiber and also vegetables. Then drink a lot of water. Thats it, very simple yer very effective. Also do some aerobic exercise and combine it with a good food plan.
