Blend a dark shadow all over your lid up to your crease then smudge a black kohl liner into your lash lines. Finish with two coats of black mascara.

Using an oversized eyeshadow brush to apply smoky purples or greys. I find mineral eyeshadows work well because you can apply them wet or dry and the blend quickly and easily. The oversized brush for the crease puts most of the pigment in the crease but also creates a gradual fade of pigment above. I like to use the mineral shadows as a liner too...they look more subtle than liquid but last longer than pencil!

light beige eyeshadow up to brow, medium brown over eyelid only and a small smudge of darker brown in crease from middle out.
at bottom lashes starting in the middle of eye, gently sweep to outer eye same darker brown. Lightly brush a little no color finishing powder for staying power.

For years I have used grey eye shadow with dark grey eye liner! I would love to win!

I like to use tones of gray/silver and dark charchol. I also like to line my upper lash inside of the lashes.

Since I have blue eyes, my fav fast smokey eye is using browns. I start out with a primer potion (UDPP is my favorite). After that, I use a light vanilla/off white/champagne shade all over my lid. If I'm in a real hurry I use this shade to highlight under my brow bone and in the inner corner of the eye. Next I either take a brown or black liner and line my upper lash line then use a smolder brush to smoke it out up onto my lid (sometimes for an even lighter touch I use a dark brown or black shadow and do the same thing). Next I use a medium tone brown color and blend it starting on top of where I just lined and blend it into the light color I put down first. Then, I use a dark brown shadow to line my lower lash line, top with a few coats of black mascara and PRESTO! A fast smokey eye! :) Pair with a lighty flushed cheek and a nude pinky-peach lip and you're good to go!

I like to use cream shadows because they are easy to smudge and blend

to creating the smokey eye i love to use tap on my outer corner before applying that dark color because it gives the smokey eye a more sharp look. then i apply the dark color only on my outer corner and half way upp the crease so i can continue that sharp look and i blend slightly from the inner crease to the outer crease =)

Start with lining your upper and lower lashes with a black -black eyeliner. Then add a nice color of grey to the lower eye lid. Add a smokey black from the middle of the eye lid out to the outer corner. Add a light crystalline color just below the arch in your eye brow. Now you have a beautiful smoky eye.

Creating the quick Smoky eye.... I start with a light eye shadow covering the eye lid and little above. Then I take a medium shadow and brush the crease above the eyed lid. Last I take a dark shadow and run it above the crease. That's my kind of smoky eye!

I find its best to use a sponge aplicator and mist it with your favorite toner or water. Then fill up the aplicator with a charcol or deep blue powder eye color. Not only do you get a rich color that stays on longer but you dont get the dark dust falling underneath your eyes.

My tip for a smoky eye is highlighting the corner with a lighter silver color. It really makes your eye color pop.

Make sure to put a dark black in the crease to add dimension

Best smoky eye trick use dark brown eye liner instead of blk on bottom lid as it looks softer and top with a thin line of blk eyeliner and smudge with shadow blending into crease

for a smoky eye...take black eyeshadow and swirl it on the outer half of the lid...then blend down, toward the nose, and under eye...use lighter and lighter shades as you go out

Using a trio of blues to create a softer smoky eye!!!

For a smoky eye just use Revlon street wear pencil eye liner and den use Revlon street wear wet eye shadow if you are wearing red hot dress den just use black pencil eye liner and wet golden eye shadow it rocks the party

I use a light shimmery color to cover the eye lid, then I take a dark color with a thin brush and line the crease with the dark color. With the darker color I usually feather it out as well.

I use a black or whatever color pencil eyeliner, then I go through with a Q-tip & smudge it along. Sometimes I'll go back with the pencil & touch it up & resmudge where needed. Then of course two coats of black mascara after they've been curled with a eyelash curler.

My best trick for creating a quick smokey eye is to first apply eye primer than a eye crayon in a silver shade follow this with a true black eyeshadow on the outer crease and VOILA, the perfect smokey eye!

I will soon turn 65, and feel 40. I love the thought of summer approaching, after a long hard winter in the Midwest. For me, Spring begins with a trip to Charleston,S.C. I love the old historic sights, then a nice walk on the beach with hubby. After that I will indulge myself in a massage and pedicure, also a new cut and highlights. Back home to the Midwest, and a whole new me. Getting older is a chance to just sit back and think about all you have accomplished in your life, and what it is you still want to do. Life Is Good, Enjoy!!

My best trick for a smoky eye is that I apply the charcoal colored eyeshadow with my finger for that smudged look. And I apply liquid liner at the eyelid and dab a bit of eyeshadow over that so it lasts all night!

My technique for creating a smoky eye is to take a wide brown or charcoal line and line the top of the lid and under eye. I take the darker shadow and smudge it over the line. I cover the lid with the darker shadow, highlighting the middle and brow bone with a shimmery light shade. That's it!

My best trick for a smoky eye is that I apply the charcoal colored eyeshadow with my finger for that smudged look. And I apply liquid liner at the eyelid and dab a bit of eyeshadow over that so it lasts all night!

I dont wear a smoky eye for everyday but when I have a special occasion I try it out, I usually end up watching Carmindy during the make-up segment of WNTW a couple times before I attempt to do it myself and following her step by step instructions is something I certainly need!

I'm new to the smoky eye look, but I like it to be subtle. I like using coppers or grays for my blue eyes. I start w/ a cream or pinky gold base color and then line a dark brown liner. I take an angled brush and smudge the line up and out. Then finish with a darker color in the corner and slightly in the crease. Blend and done!

I make a quick smokey eye by using a darker shade on the lid, a less dark shade in the crease, and the lightest shade near the brow bone. I line the upper lid and lower water line with dark eyeliner. I finish up with a couple coats of mascara and ta-da!

the way i get the "smokey " look is fairly simple... apply eye liner...then take an eyeshadow brush press lightly over entire eye where you applied the eyeliner ... then in the outside corner of the eye "smoosh" the brush so to speak... that's it....

I like to start with an eye shadow primer when I do a smoky eye. Then I highlight my eye with a light shadow. Eye use that color in the corner of my eye where my tear duct is and on my brow bone. Then I sweep a neutral color over my entire eye lid (not above the crease). Then I line my upper eye with a black liner. Then I smudge black shadow across my liner not going to far towards my tear duct. And I smudge the shadow in the far corner towards my crease. And that's how I do a smoky eye.

I use a tiny pointed sponge to apply powdered
eyeliner on upper and lower lashlines.... But
just on the outer half. Perfect amount of smoky
shadow, and no harsh hard edged lines. Up
close or far away, I'm a beauty.

For a quick smokey eye...i use a kit...i have smudgers from Chanel and other companies, different brown shadows and beige for the creases...and lots of mascara...i have it down to a 5 minute smokey eye...thanks for this..

On lower lids, I let the mascara purposefully leave a bit o' smudge right at the lash line to enhance the smokiness.

When making a fast smoky eye...use a naked brush to wipe away any imperfections.

I have brown eyes and I love to play them up with a purple and black for a smoky eye. Using an angle brush to create the effect under the bottom of the eye with the black shadow.

My best trick to smoky eyes is to use gray eye shadow over the liner of the bottom lashes.

Hey..A very quick way to give your look the desired depth is to use an eye pencil . You make a small line on your eyelid exactly above you lashes only at the end of your eyelid curve towards the corner of your eye, exactly the same way you would apply it normally. Then with your finger blend it at the corner of your crease and apply your eye pencil again all along your eyelid bringing the line till a bit out of the corner of your eye(cleopatra style..) and with a quick move of your finger stretch it out in a way that it fades away... If you have a dark complexion, use one layer of concealer so as the contrast to be more obvious. Good luck!:)

The key to a smoky eye is to not use too much of the darkest color. I use a light purple over the entire lid, then a pale gray in the crease. Lastly, I line the outside of my upper lid with dark gray then use my smudge tool to blend it with the purple. The final touch is lining my lower lid with black liner.

I usually go for the smoky eye when I want to turn heads, so it's a little dramatic. I use a thick pencil outline along the upper eyelids close to the lash-line then a smudger, quickly working the line slightly upward and outward, away from the eye. Then a light sweep of deep grey eye shadow over the top of the each lid, and a felt-tip liner for definition on both upper and lower eyelids. I finish with a single coat of mascara, or two coats if it's not too humid.

To achieve a smoky eye look for my brown eyes, I use a thin, angled brush to form an eyeliner effect first ( I usually use a smoky gray in a satin finish) on my upper and lower lash line. Second I sweep the shadow upwards toward my lid and eye corners keeping the shadow heaviest closer to the lash line and lighter near the crease. (Sometimes I use a slightly lighter shade of the same color in my crease), Third, I use a thin makeup brush to "spread out" the liner on the lower lashes to achieve the smoky look rather than an eyeline efffect. And Last, I ALWAYS sweep a light satin, and sometimes iridescent shade onto my brow bone.

I have hazel eyes and I used to use grey(still do once in awhile) but I found out that dark purples REALLY make your eyes just pop! All you have to do is aplly a light tan at your brow bone. Then apply a dark purple from the lash to the crease. Then follow with a darker purple in the corner. Apply some black eyeliner and some black mascara, then you are one hott mamajama!

Light colored shadow base all over lids. Smudge a darker shadow into the creases and over lashes. Finish with a dark liner on top and bottom lids. And don't forget the mascarra!!

Make sure you prep the lid so that your eyeshadow remains clean and not melting into your crease. For the eyeliner line the top but not the bottom instead blend your eyeshadow into your bottom lashes. Blend your base color into your darker color and make sure your darker eyeshadow remains below the crease. The key for a smokey eye is the blending! Make sure you always finish we several coats of volumizing mascara

For a quick smokey eye that lasts I use a little bit of eyeshadow primer before I apply color.

A shadow pencil all over the lid, dark liner, then blend. Literally, easy as 1,2,3. :0)

I'm too pale for a black smokey eye so I use dark gray or brown. I line my upper and lower lashlines and waterlines with a kohl pencil, smudge the lines with a q-tip and set the liner with a coordinating shadow. 3 minutes tops.

Too Get A Perfect Smokey Eye Use Your Middle Finger To Blend, It Is Way Easier To Control.

My best, simplest trick is to buy a dark eyeliner- I love navy- with a smudger on the other end. Apply the liner with a medium-heavy hand (heaviness depends on how smoky you want to go!) and then smudge away. Mascara, and voila- smoky.

Apply eyeshadow of your color choice as u usually do. When ur done use black eyeshadow and place it on the outside corner of your eye and the crescent by the middle of your eye just where u blink. Only put a small amount or as felt necessary. When your done swipe a coat or two of your favorite mascara, slip on some lipgloss and your good to go :)

Using a dark tone shadow cover your lid and sweep around your bottom lash line 1/2-3/4. Follow with a medium tone in the crease and inner eye. Buff well then your highlight color under your brow and inner corner of the eye and sweep along the inner lower lash line. Use a deep solid liner tight along the top lashes and tilted slightly up at the outer corner of the eye so it doesn't bring your eye down. Finally a couple strokes with mascara in the outer bottom lashes and coat the upper lashes so they are full and separated, emphasizing the outer upper lashes. (the outer corner of your eyes give you the most emphasis and will be the most visible with a smokey eye)

The key to a smokey eye is the blending! Make sure you blend your eyeliner into your lashes. I use a eyeliner pencil because I find they smudge easier. Place a light base eyeshadow over your lid and then blend your darker shadow from the center of your lid to your outer corner. Also blend your darker eyeshadow into your lower lashes for a dramatic look. Highlight under my brow and by the tear doct to brighten the eye. Never forget the mascara I always apply two coats. To play up your smokey eye you could use a different color mascara.

put on gray eye shadow then apply thin black eyeliner on eyelid then use a thick silver eyeliner above the black eyeliner then blend with brush

I use Black mascara and then Brown, or vise versa depending on the need for drama.

After applying eyeliner, I use a frosted eyeshadow and overlap the eyeliner. This creates a smudged look, plus I don't have to take my time or have a steady hand with the eyeliner to begin with because the shadow evens out any irregularities.

Apply dark brown liner and then creme eye shadows applied with a finger. Smudge the eyeliner slightly as you apply the shadow. Works great!

My perfect smoky eye starts with a base of shimmery gold shadow. I then use a mocha color to darken my crease and finish with a slate grey shadow around my lash line. Then I use my liquid liner to create a more defined line right at the lash line and apply mascara and voila! Perfect smoky eye.

I have brown eyes so I would do a purple or blue smokey eye using those same colors in a liner and a smudge brush. I would then place a metallic or sparkly eye shadow of choice in the inner corner and blend. To finish it off I would use a great black liquid liner to line the eye and a great mascara for beautiful flirty lashes.

I use a pale pink creme shadow from brow to top lash line to give a nice even tone base. Then I choose a dark shadow (ex: chocolate, charcoal, navy, deep plum, or dark emerald) and with my contour shadow brush I start at about the middle of my eyelid, and create a "C" - dusting the brush to the outer portion of my eye up to the crease of my eyelid and along the crease to about mid eye. Continue until the color is nicely blended into the lid. Finish off with a complimentary liner color and smudge along lashline (upper and lower).

I use a light colored matte lid primer all over the lid. Then I use two kohl soft waterproof liner pencils one in black and one in plum. I line the top lid with black and go over with the plum and then I do the same with the waterline on the bottom. Then I smudge out the top line with a angled liner brush. Then I swipe 5 or 6 coats of black mascara on the lashes. I use two kinds of mascara a volume and then lengthening. Perfect smokey eye !

I line the inner rim of my lower lid and the along the lash line of my top lid with lots of black eye liner . I really smudge the eyeliner along my top lid lash line. Then I use a black or grey shadow to darken my eye lid crease and then dust the shadow under my bottom lashes. I use a lighter grey shadow to highlight my browbone. Finally, I add lots of black mascara on
top & bottom lashes. Voila! The smoky eye!

Pair light base colors with dark rich colors and blend...so important to blend properly. Pat a cream shadow over the concealer on your lid first, wait a few minutes than top with a matching powder shadow to ensure against color fading.

I have dark hair and fair skin, and I've found that navy blue eyeliner creates a great smoky eye that's not too harsh for my coloring. I ALWAYS curl my lashes - it really does open up your eyes. (I even heat my eye lash curler with my hair dryer for about 10 seconds first to make it last all day!). Don't forget Carmindys tip about putting light, shimmery powder near your tear duct and brow bone too!!

Love you Carmindy! Wish you could be my makeup artist every morning :-)

Apply a dark navy color on lid and blend into crease use a light shade on browbone and apply black liner on upper and lower lashline and smudge with a q-tip and then finish with two coats of black mascars

With my brown eyes,I use a navy blue pencil, smudge and apply a navy blue shadow.

a q tip, grey eyeshadow and a quick smear along the eyelid!

Dark mauve on eye lid and crease. Frosty light beige shade on brow bone and alittle in middle of lid

Use smokey colors that compliment what I am wearing. I match the colors up. My eyes are dark so it brings everything out - my eyes and my clothes!

I just line my eyes on the top and bottom lids with eyeliner. I smudge it a bit and put on a lightish color of eyeshadow. and then i just coat it with a darker version of the color. i also add in some eyeshadow from another color and make it look layered.

just take a pencil eyeliner and line the outside corners of your eyes...smudge and youre good to go. any colour works

Ok! - I give up! - I plan to bribe/pay/whatever for my good friend to help me out!

I use mineral powder eyeliner - it stays for a long time and can smudge a little for a nice smoky effect over eyeshadow :)

I like to use Colores mineral cosmetics as you can get that smoking look with different applications. I use the dark smoke over the eye lid and then apply the light smoke only on the inner part of the eye lid i also add silver blended in with a charcoal liner.

I like to start out with a soft light color all ove,r then I ad the dark color to lower did and blend up. Then take and ad a little more to the crease line.

Use your darker color starting at the edge of your eyelid and work inwards. Then I use a lighter shade of the color to blend in the middle into the inner corner of the eye. Highlight under the brow bone and inner corner crease with a white or silver, top off with mascara, adding more on the outer edges of lashes.

Apply a frosty light blue to the eyelid, then a darker blue in the crease. Eyeliner under the lower lashes, and dark blue eyeshadow over it. Make a > shape at the corners with the dark blue shadow. Loads of mascara to complete the effect. Also, a frosty pearl highlight under the eyebrows.

Instead of using a regular black or brown, try using blue, purple, or deep green when doing a jewel-toned eye. (violet looks really great)

Start with neutral color over entire eyelid. Line upper and lower lashes with a charcoal grey liner, and smudge with a sponge applicator. With a small brush, apply charcoal grey powder over the liner to make it look even more "smoky" and to increase the longevity. Use the brush to bring some of that color from the outer corner up to the outer crease and blend. Apply 2 coats mascara.

I like to use a deep chocolate brown rather than black. It gives a softer look.

I use eyeliner on my upper and lower lids, and take a light neutral (light beige or white) eyeshadow and sweep it over my lids up to my brow line for dimension. Then I use a dark burgundy eyeshadow in the crease, and finish up with a slightly lighter shade of burgundy eyeshadow. Once I'm done with that, I use either my finger or a soft eyeshadow brush to blend it upwards or downwards, depending on how dramatic I want it. Afterwards I use two coats of dark brown or black mascara on my upper and lower lashes.
For certain eye and skin colors, I would recommend using earth tones, greens, burgundies/purples, or neutrals. I find that a combination of greasy and matte and shimmery black eyeshadow are universally flattering, as long as they are put on correctly.

I love a dark smoky eye! I use dark dusky blue and gray eyeshadow powder.
I use black mascara on upper and lower lashes. then I smudge the blue and
grey at the crease.

First you must must must prime your eyelids. I only dab my brush into the color of choice and make a sideways V. Then blend the crap out of it!

I love a brown smokey eye for my hazel eyes! I put the darkest tone in the crease, concentrating on the outer portion... a medium tone for the lid, and a light tone for the inner 1/3 of the lid and the bow bone. Black eyeliner and black mascara!!!

Secret to smoky eye? Black pencil liner for the bottom. Liquid Liner for the top. Use a neutral (preferably light brown) eyeshadow on the lid. and your done!

My best smoky eye is when I layer from light to dark starting with white in the tearduct and ending with black or charcoal on the outer corner. I usually do 3 or 4 shades on the lid and blend it all with a shimmery silver. Top off with some crisp liquid black eyeliner and the look is complete!

Brush a primer on the lid, then use a gray on the whole lid. Then apply a darker gray in the crease and a highlight on the brow bone. Lastly, put a light or dark black on the outer corner/edge of your eye and complete with eyeliner and mascara.

My fast and easy way to a smokey eye is to take a dark purple and an angle brush and smudge it along the lash line and crease and then feather it inward. Then take a lighter purple or grey with a smudge brush and fill in the eyelid. Then you are ready for the day!

I first use a pink base then take a medium brown to line the upper and lower lids. Then take whatever color you like to blend darker from outer lash first, lighter toward the inner part of eye.

I don't have the makeup expertise that some ladies do, so I try the best and easiest shortcuts. To make a gray smokey eye, I take a gray liner and line the upper lid along the lash line. I line 3/4 of the lid (heavier along the outer corner) and smudge it along the lash line with a q-tip. I apply 2 coats of black mascara and I'm done.

My best tip for creating a fast smokey eye is to have a good brush. One designed for creases or a great multi brush (like the MAC 217) could cut out a step of looking for 2 brushes. Also, use the darkest shade primarily in the corner of your eye and blend in a bit onto the lid as well as the crease for some more dimension.

I apply a shimmering light colored shadow under my brow bone and on tear duct (learned from Carmindy) then I put a smoky grey across lid up to crease. I also put the grey under about 1/2 inch of my lower lashes. Then I use a dark purple pencil to line my upper lashes, then smudge. A little under lower lashes also.Smudge. A couple of coats of mascara and I'm Smokin"! By the way my eyes are green.

My trick for a fast smoky eye is to pick one color that really emphasizes your eye color, apply it all over the lid, and then take a clean brush to blend out the edges.

Cream shadows are great for blending!! I have green eyes, so I love to use purples, they really make my eyes pop!

I have hazel (blue/green) eyes. My "quick" smoky eye trick: Start with a black - like onyx - eyliner...top only. Then I have a "charcoal" shadow that I use just on the lid. Then the shadow on the crease is depending on my mood...Sometime it's a dark grey blue, or a creme highlight, or a grey. Any works!

Cream eyeshadow up to eyebrows, sweep over eyelid to crease with gray, then highlight from the crease out to the corner of the eye with a deep blue or green. Add black eyeliner right along the eyelash line, and finish with two coats of mascara and smile :)

I start of with a cream or white shiney shadow for all over. Then according to my mood, I use black shadow or deep smoky gray.
If I use the black I start with the shiny white eyeshadow first. I like & use Physcians Formula color Up In The Clouds. I put the black on dark. Then I take my finger & smudge it around till I get the desired look. I finsh off with a black eyeliner. But, if you really want it your eye color pop, you can use Mary-Kate & Ashley Shimmer Plus- All Over Color in Daredevil eye liner. It looks so good & it adds a different look for your smokey eyes.
If I want the the gray smokey eyes, I start with the cream color first for all over my eye. Then I use the gray & smudge it with my finger. I top it off with a black eyeliner. You could use the white shiny eyeliner instead.
One thing I have noticed if you use the white eyeliner then it will intensify your eye color! (specially for green eyes cause mine are green & it really makes mine pop out at everyone & they sparkle)
But, my Daughter has dark brown eyes & when I use it on hers it makes her eyes seem brighter & the color pops even for her brown eyes. So, I really suggest you buy the Mary-Kate & Ashley shimmer plus- all over color. The color is Daredevil. It's the white one that has shimmer. Just be aware that it is a very fat pencil. It's very easy to apply. But, if you don't have a sharpener then make sure you get one.
Have fun with these examples. Thanks for reading~
Chastity L~

My quick easy way of doing a smoky eye is to take one finger from each hand get a good amount of any dark eye shadow and apply from the outside corner of my lid to the middle and then up in the crease below my brown bone then pick two different fingers and apply a highlight color to the inside corners of my eyes to just under the brow. It really works! I'm always running late so this is a life saver for me it takes about 3 minutes add eyeliner and mascara maybe blush and I'm out the door with 5 minute makeup.

I use a liner that has a smudge tip on the opposite end. Just line, smudge and go!

1st i use purple eye liner. i have hazel eyes & it makes them pop. then i use a eyeshadow brush and apply gray shadow to the corners of my eyelid. they a much lighter shade lightly brushed on the rest of the bottom section of the lid.

My favorite smoky eye is in brown. I use dark brown liner to smudge on the upper and lower lash line. I then use a lighter brown shadow over the lid; a darker shad for the creases, and an even darker shade for the lash line (both upper and lower).

Creating a smoky eye: With a light cream, cover the eyelid and inner corner of the lid. Then, take a rich, dark brown shadow from the eyelashes all the way up to the crease. Brush a little shadow under the outer half of the bottom lashes. Smudge a brown or black liner along the top lashes, coming out and up a bit from the eye. And, line just the outer half of the bottom lashline. Finish with black mascara on the upper and lower lashes. Voila!

All you need is your favourite dark shadow.
With a little brush mix the shadow with wather and use it like a eyeliner, then with a dry brush and a little more shadow smudge it from the corner to the center....mascara.....and be fabulous

I fail at makeup. I need all the help I can get.

i like to do a two tone smokey eye, so i do a bright color near the corner of my eye and then black out to my eyebrow.

I apply a "dirty" white from crease to brow, applied with a brush. The color the entire lid with a medium gray, applied with my finger. I use a very dark gray/almost black for the smokey look, applied with a small brush in a half-moon shape, from the outer corner of the eye to the crease, then blend with my finger. Looks super - ALWAYS get compliments!

I use a shimmery beige all over and a rich gunmetal in the crease. Then top the entire lid off with a light dusting of shimmery gold. It really helps hazel eyes pop!

1. Start with a neutral EyeShadow, and brush it all over the lid.
2. Smudge Lacome's The New Black EyeShadow into the lash line, and it blend up.
3. Use a silver or vanilla EyeShadow on the top of the lid just below the brow.
4. Finish with a black mineral mascara to finish the look.

It's simple and it works when I'm in a hurry.

Im too pale for black eyeliner. So i use a deep purple instead. It really makes my green eyes pop. First i use a pale purple eye pencil all over my eyes for a base and to make the shadow more. Then i line my eyes with a deep purple liner and use a c brush to put deep purple eyeshadow n the crease. I use a little paler purple on my lids and a shimmery white on my browbone. Finish it off with creamy shimmery white on inside of eye.

For my super quick smokey eye the first thing I do is a shimmery highlight on my browbone up to the eyebrow. Then take a lighter colour I usually do a silvery grey or champagny Purple and apply to the lid and up to the crease with a shadow brush. Then take a pointed crease brush and use a darker colour like black for the Grey or plum/ dark purple for the champagny one then apply to the crease and slighty above on the lower part of the brow bone and pat it on the outside cOrners. Adding eyeliner on the top and bottom outside corners adds more dramatic effect but not necessary. Bad some mascara n your done! It literally takes me under a minute to do this super easy!

For a smoky eye to compliment green eyes, take a shimmery green and dust it over your lid and up to your beow bone. Take an olive shade shadow and apply it to the creases. Then take an angled brush and apply black eyeshadow as close to the lashline as possible. You can wing it out for a cateye effect. apply brown, black, or even a green eyeliner to bottom waterline and finish with two to three coats of mascara. I definitely wore this for St. Patricks day too. (:

After applying eye liner with a black pencil, use a Q-tip to create a smudge like look.

I love to do a smokey eye with greens. All you have to do is go from darkest to lightest up your eye area. Darkest color needs to stay on the lid only. Medium color is going to soften the line of the dark color by focusing on the crease of your eye. Finally the lightest color is going to soften the crease color. Lastly, I like to take a shadow close to my skin color, and blend, blend, blend so it looks soft and unified. I take a dark purpel liner and line the entire outside of my eyes and smudge with the same color shadow. I like to add some shimmer to the inside of my eyes to add some brightness to my eye. Finally lots of mascara is needed for such a dark look. Light cheeks and lips polish off the look! :)

Sometimes if I am in a super hurry. I just swipe black eyeliner, mascara, and tap a little dark shadow above my liner!! It's fast and it's still smoky!

xo

my favorite way to get a quick smoky eye effect but not look too dark is to smudge black eyeliner into lash line, then apply a neutral gray/creme color to the eye lid. next you apply a steel color to the crease of your eyelid. for the finishing touches, i mix a shimmery, light color (usually pink!) with gold and apply it to the inner corners of your eyelids, just a little bit under your brow bone, and a little from the inner corners to the center of your bottom eyelids. lastly put black eyeliner on the bottom lids, curl lashes, and put on black mascara to give your lashes volume and color to balance to the eyeshadow!

I have plain old brown eyes, so I love a copper smokey eye look!!

I apply a nice beige shimmer in the coroners of my eyes and up by my eyebrow.
I then take a nice copper brown and apply it to all over my lid.
Now for the smokey eye, I take a small round brush and a dark (black) shadow. Starting at the outside crease I blend the black inwards towards the inner corner of my eye. If I need more shadow I always start again in the outside corner. You want the back to fade as you get closer to the inside. Add some fresh liqid eyeliner and mascara a poof!! Wonderfull smokey eye!!

I've simply learned to use smokey gray eyeshadow under the lower lid, instead of khol. If I can mix in a tinge of deep emerald green, then my eyes simply zing!

Thanks! Have fun at the Party!

my easiest way to do a smoky eye is to take a charcoal or dark gray colored eyeliner pencil and drawing (sloppy) on the outer corners of the eyes in a v shape then taking a large blending brush or finger and smudging it in and out making a smoky cat eye. Then take a shimmery white eyeshadow or white eyeliner and apply on the inner corners of the eyes and on the brow bone. You can also use dark purples or blues for the smoky part for a more romantic feel.

I use a dark gray eyeshadow under the lower lid and mix in just a hint of dark emerald green or chocolate brown (my eyes are jade with brown streaks). This makes my eyes really zing!

Thanks! and have fun at the Party! Wish we could be there! Lord knows we love her new line (one of the few Paraben Free products on the market). I just hope she made an app for the Palm Centro phone too!

Instead of using an eyeliner I use a dark eye shadow because its way easier to apply and smudge for that perfect smokey eye.

the easyist way to remember the smoky eye is know a color that looks great then do medium, dark, light

Having blue eyes and fair skin- I go for browns, which are more subtle and natural looking. Black can look harsh, and show mistakes quickly. Brown is more forgiving- and therefore easier to do quick! :-)

To create a smoky eye, I like to use shades of gray. I start with a light gray all over the eye up to the crease. I put a bright white highlighter under the brow and in the corner of the eye. I then add a dark gray metallic that has a hint of purple to the crease and blend. I then add a black eyeliner to the top and a little to the bottom lashes. I put on two coats of mascara and am ready to go! I use all mineral powder shadows because they blend really well. I use a small angled brush for the highlight and a big angled brush in the crease. I feel this works really well. Blue eyes should get a dark brown smoky eye, brown eyes; either a gray or purple, and green eyes a nice purple as well. I think this trend is awesome! Love you Carmindy!

Using a shadow brush, brush light gray/silver shadow all over the lid. Then brush a darker gray shadow in the crease of the eyelid. Then, using a smaller brush, brush black eyeshadow along the lash line on your eyelid, and then blend it into the outside corner of the eyelid. Then put black eyeliner on top and bottom, curl the lashes, and add black mascara!

I personally am very pale and have delicate features, so i like a very subtle smoky eye.
First I take black eyeliner and smudge it on the top lid, then I take a medium light gray eyeshadow and blend the Black eyeliner up. third I take silver eyeshadow and blend it up into the crease. the under the eye I take the grey shadow and smudge it along the lash line, the lightly go over the grey with the silver eye shadow. followed by toe coats of black mascara top and bottom.

I have blue eyes and I like to use blues to bring out my eyes and hi-light them. I like to do a dark shimmery blue with a brown accent in the eyelid and then finish over top of the eye lid with a light blue shimmer. I add a little dark blue eye liner and some blue tinted mascara to finish the look off.

Smear a black or dark brown over the corners after applying reg color...smush it in..eyeliner is a pop too

For a very quick day to night smokey, sexy look my favorite trick is to take a grey or black eyeliner pencil and smudge it all over my lid. With heat from my fingers, I work it into my crease. It creates the perfect undone sexy smokey eye and takes all of about 30 seconds (you also don't have to carry a lot around with you to take yourself from office to night out). It is messy, but is perfect for the right event (concert, night out clubbing, etc.).

To do a brown smoky eye I usually swipe a medium shade over my whole lid then using a
dark brown, contour the crease and feather out on the sides just a bit . Add just a touch of highlighter to the brow bone and inner corner of the eye and BAM, u have a beautiful, smoky, smoldering look.

I buy a cream eyeliner Walgreen around Halloween one side is black and shimmery the other side is white. First you take the white you blend it all over you eye lid evenly. Then take the black side and line the crease and corners and blend in.

I use brown/gray shades of creme eye shadows to blend and create a smoky effect.

light shimmer in corner of eyes then smudge eyeliner upwards and outwards

I use a sparkle vanilla all over, a nutmeg in the crease, a dark brow liner and three coats of mascara. love it!

use a sparkly vanilla color in your lid and take a black liner (mac smolder) and smudge brush and smudge it into your lids to create that smokey look. do that to the lower lids too and you've got a easy smokey eye

Blend, blend, blend!! I have dark eyes and very fair skin, so the smoky eye can be very intense for me if I'm not careful. A little black eyeliner smudged on the outer 1/3 edge of my eyes and some deep brown/gray eyeshadow blended toward the outer edges works well for me. I also use a lighter shade on the inner corners and center of my lid, and to highlight right below my brow bone.

The easiest way I've found is to take a chubby eyeliner in a creamy formula, line around the eyes, smudge it and then go over it with a powder shadow in a similar shade to set it. Blend the powder shadow up and into the crease, then in the crease, apply a complimentary, mid toned shadow and then a highlight shade under the brow bone and apply at least 2 coats black mascara.

-Before I put on any eyeshadow on I first put a straight small portion of tape on the outer corner of each eye. This makes the eye shadow not get messy.

-Also, when I do the crease line, I open my eyelid so that the crease line comes out perfect after I blend it so the line doesn't come out so harsh.

I'm no expert, so I like to follow Carmindy's advise.

I have a 5 year old and a 2 hour commute, so I'm all about the 5 minute face. I have very dark eyes (almost black), so I don't use black to smoke my eyes out because it's too dramatic for day. My daytime smokey eye consists of dark brown pencil liner, top and bottom (bottom under lashes, not at waterline or it disappears), a dab of whatever blush color or bronzer i'm using on the lids up to the crease, then heavy brown/black mascara on tops and bottoms...ta da!! Smokey eyes that don't run or fade :o)

For a quick smokey eye I sweep a nude base over the entirety of my lid with clean finger tips. Then using a small brush I buff in a light gray color on my lid. Using a separate angeled brush I blend in a black or dark gray to the crease of my eye and outer corner of my lid. Apply two coats of black mascara! :)

Start with an eyeshadow base to remove oil from your eyelids and to keep eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease. If you’ve chosen a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply a soft eyeliner in one of the colors above the upper lash line. The line should be thicker in the middle of eye. If your choice is jewel-toned eyes, line your eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner. Use the pencil liner from the inner eye corner to the outer. Smudge both lash lines with a cotton swab or an eyeliner brush. To give your bottom lids the color, which will be the key to smoky eyes, apply the liner of a lighter color to the bottom lids: dot it between your lower lashes. The most important point here is to smudge it. To do it, apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.Sweep light base color over the lids to the browbones. It’s better to use cream shade of mousse shadow. The shadow should also be shimmery. Thus, you have the eyeliner and the base. Choose a darker eyeshadow shade. Using a brush, blend in color starting at your lash line and then applying it into your crease, blending up and outward. Blend color so that the eye liner disappears. Make sure your eyes match and use a Q-tip, if needed. Finish your smoky eyes with some coats of black volumizing mascara you usually apply. That’s it!

I've noticed that you could do a smoky eye with not just black or gray eyeshadow. I think it's the way it looks and how you apply it that matters.
My eyes are brown with a tint of green, so I happen to use mostly browns and lighter shimmer colors.
My first step is to put the lighter color, maybe a little shimmer right below my brow. Then I put a matte color on the lid itself, not to exceed the crease area. I then take a shimmer brown and fill in the crease area and take it to the corner of my eye as well. Could add a little bit more on the corner of the eye to get that more drastic look. Blend in with a makeup sponge and oila! You can then add some brown or black eyeliner on the top lid and some black mascara to finish it off.

I do my smokey eyes by putting a primer on my eyelid to hold the color. With my blue eyes I use a plum liner, then pink from my lid to my brows. I use a dark gray shadow in the crease of my eyes, then I get "carmendized" with the highlighter under my browbone and in the "tear" duct area. Curl the lashes, black mascara and you are ready to go. I love watchig Carmindy on W.N.T.W. She always knows how to make them feel beautiful.

Smoky eyes can be quick and easy while still being beautiful, and looking like you've spent hours getting ready! In reality it can take a few quick minutes, and five easy steps!

Step One: add a black eyeshadow to the outside corners and crease of your eye, blending to your brow bone, blending as you go towards the middle of your eye.

Step Two: add a shade darker black eyeshadow to the outer corners of your eye and also outline your upper lashline.

Step Three: add eyeliner,I use Covergirl Perfect Point with a built in blending sponge, to your inner lashline( just lift up your eyelid carefully as to not create wrinkles) and also at the bottom waterline, using the built in blender to smugde down to your lashes.

Step Four: use an eyelash curler, pump three times each eye, and add your favorite mascara to top and bottom lashes, two coats.

Step Five: the last step, if you are in a hurry you can even skip this step, take an eyeshadow that is a champagne color, can be frosted or matte, white, or an eyeshadow a shade lighter than your skin tone, swipe it under your eyebrows, the inner corners of your eye next to your tearduct to brighten your eyes. Then take a seperate brush and add your favorite bronzer under your bottom lashline to warm your face, and then you have a beautiful, easy, fast smoky eye that your friends, or lucky date, will think you took hours to apply!!

I use a black eyeliner pencil top & bottom and smudge it. I use a very light pink under eye brows then I take a light grey in the corner and half on the lid. Then I take a medium purple & dark purple and put in the crease and the rest of the lid. I get many compliments on this look. Then i take a small blush brush and blend all of it. It looks great.

i use a dark brown/black on the outer eyelid, then blend in a lighter shade on the middle of the eyelid. on in inner eye,i put a silver or gold shade, and smudge that in with the darker shades. right under the eye brows,i put a ligher shade of gold or silver (depending what color i had chosen earlier),just to make my eyes really pop. i then add a dark brown or black eye liner. to finish off the whole look,i curl my lashes and add maskara :)

Since it's spring it's fun to use browns more than blacks and grays. What I do is put a light gold eyeshadow on the lid, then a more golder gold in the crease. Blend the darker gold down into the light gold. Then take a cream color and use it on the brow bone and on the inside by the tear ducts for a cool glow. Then take a dark brown and use it on the outside third of the the lid and kinda make a small half circle outside the lid a bit and bring it into the crease. Blend it in. Use the same color to line the bottom lash line. Take a black eyeliner pencil and line the top lashline. Use a smudger to smudge it. Then for a really sultry eye-opening look apply some false eyelashes, but if you can't a couple coats of good old mascara will do too! =]

I put on a primer and then a light nude eyeshadow so that the other shadowa go on nice and smooth. Then I use a dark charcol on the top lid, loosely smear some smokey grey over the upper lid, and smudge the charcol underneath the eye. I then put dark black liner on the inside of my eyes and 2 coats of thick dark mascara. Then to top it off, I take a silver and put it on the inside corners of my eyes. PRESTO! Now you the BESTO! Id love to win! Dank you dank you for reading! Enjoy!

solid eyecolor all over with a shimmer at the brow. Black, charcoal or smudge brown on upper lid at lashes and a light bit of shimmery green at the outer edge of my eye.... Curl those lashes and apply mascara again and again....

To make the smokey eye look easy..
like a Spring day, breezy..
use Nars Velvet Eye pencil has your base..
Revlon colorstay eyeliner in black..won't run down your face.
Use a dark colored shade but keep that color below the crease..
blend with an eyeshadow blush...make it soft and smooth like your favorite fleece.
Lastly, apply lots of black mascara to lashes..
DiorShow is what I would use ..it goes on the fastest!

I use a tinted base like UD primer potion in champagne over the entire lid, Revlon's blackest brown on the bottom half of the lid and gently blend into crease. Black mascara and eyeliner upper and lower waterline.

First apply lids with Fast Fix Eye shadow Base. Then apply a shimmery eye shadow on brow line and on the inner corners of eyes. Sweep on a beige colored eye shadow all over lids. Line lower and upper lids with black or purple eye liner. Smudge it with black or purple eye shadow and blend upwards. Then apply one coat of mascara

I trick is to have my daughter do it for me ;)

Use a lighter eye shadow to cover the eye lid and little above. Next use a medium shadow to brush in the crease above the eye lid. Last take a dark shadow and run it just above the crease.

Apply a grey eyeshadow to the upper lid, charcoal in the crease, Dark grey under the lower lashes and smudge it. Frosty lightest grey under eyebrows. Some eye drops to bring out the sparkle. Lashings of mascara and your done.

use covergirl smokey shadow blast! :)

I like to approach the smoky eye with "Less is More," No matter how dramatic I want my eyes, I start with less eyeshadow. It's usually a shimmery color to start. I sweep the color from the inner eye to the upper corner sweeping it slightly at first. The next rule I use is "Smudge, Blend, Smudge." I won't lose the color; I can always add more, but the smokiness comes through. Thanks for the chance to share.
