Christina Hendricks
Christina Hendricks has lashed out at designers who can't cater for her womanly figure.
The voluptuous Mad Men actress--who is a curvy size 10--says labels don't make sample dresses in her size, leaving her with few options for events.
She said, "They only lend out a size 0 or 2. So I'm still struggling for someone to give me a darn dress. People have been saying some nice, wonderful things about me. Yet not one designer in town will loan me a dress."
Despite being bigger than the average Hollywood star, Christina insists she has never felt under pressure to lose weight. She explained, "This has always been my size. I've worked on other shows with this same size but Mad Men celebrates it and that is nice."
Although she is not inundated with offers from fashion houses, there is one designer who is happy to dress the curvy actress --her best friend Tamara Mello.
Christina has recently appeared in a campaign for Tamara's Blackbird Design House and admits she was delighted to be asked. She told People magazine, "I have worn Tamara's scarves, hats, sweaters and jewelry for years. She's my best friend and we always collaborate, so it was only natural that I would model when she asked!"
Tamara added, "She's the prettiest person I know, so she would come over for a visit and I would throw a scarf on her and start shooting. There was never a formal photo shoot. No hair and makeup, no lights I shot everything myself. She just makes everything look good with very little effort."

I wish I were a size 10 like she is, she's great! My feeling is that designers are not truly talented unless they can design clothes for different shapes and sizes that are flattering. It's much easier to design and style a size 0 or 2 because at those sizes variations in body shape can be glossed over but at a size 10, small waist and wider hips cannot and you have to have talent to adjust for those differences.

There's a reason: most designers are gay. Real men like women like Christina. That's a fact of life.
