Rarely do I meet a woman who is actually excited to get into her summer bikini. In fact, according to Michele Promaulayko, Editor in Chief of Women's Health, only one in five women is happy with how she looks. I fall into that camp! After trying gazillions of different fitness and diet plans, here's why I like Promaulayko's "6 Week Plan To Your Leanest, Hottest Body--Ever!" that she dishes out in her new book Look Better Naked.
1. The workouts are quick. I don't love working out, but some of the routines are only 20 minutes long, which anyone should be able to handle--no excuses! The exercises tone up all over as well as target specific body parts women find most problematic.
2. The plan includes a nude attitude adjustment. Promaulayko points that improving your body confidence is just as important as getting in shape. If you can't flaunt it, why fight for it, right?
3. The diet is delicious and doable. The book is packed with easy-to-follow eating guidelines and yummy recipes. To give you a taste of how easy her advice is, here are a few of the tips I really like:
• Eat Dessert. Yes, you heard right! A small amount tells your body the meal is over and it's time to stop eating.
• Always Snack at 3 p.m. A low-calorie snack can prevent you from binging on high-cal foods later on.
• Buy organic bread because it'll most likely have fiber counts that put the conventional choices to shame.
• My favorite: The Signature Look Better Naked Cocktail! Recipe: Shake 2 oz. vodka, 1 oz St. Germain (an elderflower liqueur), and 1/2 oz fresh lime juice with ice. Strain and garnish with fresh mint. YUM!

Congrats to our winner Tasha. Thanks to everyone who entered and shared their secrets to a great bikini body!
You don't just have to be fit in order to look bikini ready... you also have to be able to flaunt it!
that has been the hardest thing for me to do, but each day i try to think of one good thing i like about my body.. i can't wait to go to the beach now!
I'm nowhere near confident in my bikini but put it on anyways as a reminder to stick to my plan so I can reach the goal of feeling better in it.
We wait all year to get back into our sexy clothes & bikin's.. You just have to remember you look beautiful in anything!! & you will feel great in a bikini :)
I find that having some color is definitely beneficial (though I refuse to get cancer in a box)! Sally Hansen airbrush spray or bath and body works tanning lotion are both great products. And, a cute sarong is also a great idea!! My cutest bikini has a miniature skirt on it that is only a couple of inches long, but I feel like I look cute in it! :o)
I feel most confident in my bikini when... I never feel confident in my bikini. I have two wonderful children that I gladly gave my firm non scared body for but I sure miss it.
be comfortable with what your wearing and you will always look GREAT!!!
If I'm wearing a tankini!
Simply being confident, even if you have to fake it ;)
In good company, it is easiest to be comfortable not only in what we wear but in our skin as well. (:
I feel most comfortable in a bikini if it's a tankini!
I feel most confident in my bikini... after a nice long run. That morning I'll enjoy a nice bowl of oatmeal with my favorite fruit, I'll do a quick 20 min. jog, a set of crunches, shower, then strut it in the mirror :)
My body is nowhere near bikini ready, but when I do wear a bikini I pretend I am walking are round with a rock hard body.....You'll be surprised what confidence can do for your mind, body and soul. It's all about how you think of yourself. Like they say love the skin your in (and body)!!
I think drinking tons of water helps your skin look better, also not eating things with a lot of salt. But most importantly is just being confident. That shines through a lot more than anything else.
To me being able to feel confident in a bikini is about feeling good about yourself. If I don't feel good about me it doesn't matter what I wear or how I look in it, I just won't feel good in it.
My best advice is to feel better on the inside as well. If you are loving yourself with daily affirmations you can't help but start loving the outside too. I DO want to look better naked though! ;)
I think posture is a big part of feeling confident in a bikini. Head up, shoulders back, and walk tall!!
There's just something great about walking down to the beach wrapped in a sarong, finding that perfect sun spot and slowly unwrapping the sarong to feel the soft, warm air and the heat of the sun coat your skin. Then building the confience to take a stroll down to the sea front in your bikini and when you do what happens? Nothing. Not a single person is laughing at you or looking in dusgust. Why? Because we are all too concerned about how we look ourselves to take notice of anyone else. There isn't a single body in a bikini that looks like the other body in a bikini. That's a FACT! :-)
Right now, I feel most confident wearing Omar's tent! However, if I win the book and the diet and exercise is successful (i.e., this 60 y-o+ gets up the nerve to wear any style of bathing suit), I'll be happy to report back complete with photos!
I will not wear a bikini unless I have a tan, I found that Jergens brand tanning lotion works great. Not only is it safer than a tanning salon it's cheaper!
I feel more confident knowing I had a good workout and have done better than before. Maybe this way I might be more bikini ready.
Ofcourse, I border-line kill myself at the gym & try my hardest to resist temptation with the food. But, i feel the biggest(and quickest) confidence boost is to get a good tan, or use a tanning lotion w/ a bronzer in it!
Excercise is the key along with a decent eating habit.
I just had my son in November, so I am definitely hesitant about putting on a bikin, but I love putting on a bikini and going outside and enjoying the weather. I may still have some baby fat to lose, but my husband always tells me how great I look. It just makes me smile and feel good about wearing my bikini!!! Also I try and get a new bikini that expresses my personality with a bold print or color.
I would have to say the easiest way to look great in a bikini (for me) is to wear it around my husband. He loves my body so much it helps me to realize that maybe it doesn't look that bad...and I become more confident in it. (hey, he doesn't even notice my cellulite). As far as actually looking good I drink a ton of water and try to avaid salty snacks to prevent bloating.
I thik finding the right bikini is key. It needs to fit well and for the person to feel confident in it.
My kids are the biggest reason to and also not to wear a bikini. I have 3 kids including a set of twins so I don't ever feel confident in a bikini but being able to enjoy the water with my children, who don't care that I don't look like a model, is worth wearing one :)
i am almost 42 and i am blessed to have received my dad's genes, as far as my body-type goes. for the past year and half, i have lost 20pounds by eating gluten, wheat, barley, malt, dairy free - my whole life has been a terrible pain in my gut, and with the *bodily changes* that happen around this time, other things were beginning to materialize as well.
i have dealt with a severe low self-esteem my whole life b/c of acne scars, freckles, bloating, spider veins, and glasses. but now, at almost 42, i am beginning to feel good about myself. i hate to workout but still have cellulite patches around my legs at the bum.... only 20mins to focus on those areas would be great! :-)
thanks for the opporutunity!
Bikini body.....come and get me! haha After having kids I don't know what happened but no more bikini body. :-(
Typically, I work out with weights for 30 minutes before heading out the door in a bikini. If I'm really pressed for time, I'll drop and do 10 push-ups - it only takes a minute.
I agree that having a tan is what makes me feel more confident in a bikini. It gives your body a leaner firmer look
Remember that curves are sexy!!!
you need to say that you are sexy and feel good about it:)
your body is unique and you find and see the best about yourself...
Ive noticed that when my skin is tan, I tend to feel better about myself in general, as well as in a bikini!! :) But dont forget to put on your SPF lotion so your not harming your skin. And always keep your skin moisturised with lots of lotion so you dont get wrinkles. :)
You are beautiful and sexy no matter what size or shape you are in.
Fake tan!!
I am not biking ready. That is why this caught my eye. Not sure what it would take to get me there.
I feel most confident in a bikini when:
I eat tuna in water for the 2 nights before going to the beach. I loose almost one pound per night!
I put on a lot of baby oil. It gives you a healthy and sexy glow!
Good luck!
What's my favorite tip on how to feel most confident in a bikini? Well, since I've never owned/worn a bikini, it's slightly difficult for me to say. I'll just answer in terms of any swimwear or clothing that really hugs your curves.
The best way to feel confident is to just feel good about yourself. If you're worried about what others might be thinking or saying about your outfit or think you might have your own paparazzi shooting pictures to put out for the masses to see, and show how bad you think you look, you're not going to feel comfortable or confident. It all comes from within and really has nothing to do with what kind of shape you're in.
Granted, we all feel much more confident if we feel healthy, so that's a big contributing factor as well - but feel good about yourself and what you can do, and you can do anything!
haven't put a bikini in years....hope this book helps with that.
Having confidence in yourself, a fresh shave, and someone with you who loves the way you look regardless of what kind of swim suit your wearing...
Unfortunately I am not confident enough (yet) to be in a bikini but I am hoping that will change, or atleast a tankini! I've got my share of the dreaded stretch marks from my baby and I'm not sure I need to be showing those off:)
1. OWN IT! GURL or GUY!
2. Black is always slimming
3. OWN IT! GURL or GUY!
4. A nice Sarong
Last but not least-
OWN IT! GURL or GUY!
kissess.....
I am most confident in a bikini......always. The way that happens is by proper posture and just feeling good about myself. Life is short, live each day til the end and come on ladies we can all look good and feel confident in a bikini!!
Getting bikini ready means putting myself in a good mood, and pampering myself a bit. One piece of this is maintaining an excellent posture, to both look confident in the near buff, and make sure skin creases do not occur from sitting. Also, I like to make sure to keep skin very well moisturized, and keep salt intake low.
i always feel better when i've had a little sun on my skin. i don't mean an unhealthy or dangerous amount; i miss just enough where you look sun-kissed and healthy.
After 3 kids I adore, I wouldn't feel confident in a bikini. :(
I am most confident in a bikini when I have a nice base tan!
Don't try to save money! A swimsuit is one of those things you cant just search sales on (which I am notorious for in all departments). If you see the one you fall in love with, dont even look at the pricetag. You need to be so excited to wear it, you come up with reasons. The more you want to wear the fabric, the more motivated you will be to look good in it.
Living in a beach town. You will notice not everyone has a perfect body. Being confident, laughing with girlfriends and sipping Mango wine always helps.
If you feel beautiful, you'll glow gorgeous! So confidence is important.
Drink lots of water, and eat small portions thru-out the day to keep my metabolism going :0)
One of the biggest things that has helped me has been my boy friend. He makes me feel beautiful and in turn that has boosted my confidence in what I wear. But a fresh shave is still required for me before I put on my swim suit!
I can't answer this until I win the book and can FIT into a bikini. If I wore one now, I'd scare everyone off the beach. After 3 kids by C-section and hitting the 40+ mark, my body isn't fit for any sort of swimsuit. I need help!!
Go to the beach or pool - look around. We are each beautifully imperfect....when you can really embrace that, put on that beautiful bikini and strut it baby! ;)
I have never felt confident in a bikini so I REALLY need this book!
I just look for a hot new suit and wear it with confidence!
Eat every 3 hours during the day, drink plenty of water and exercise
My way of feeling confident in a bikini is making sure I buy a bikini that is flattering for my body type and telling myself, "If I show confidence in wearing my bikini and make myself believe I look good, then others will see that and believe it too". I also want to point out that although the media tells us "skinny" is beautiful, curvy and big are beautiful as well, if not more. I am skinny, but trust me, I have my flaws. I've seen plenty of bigger women with bodies more beautful than mine. We see "flawless" models in magazines and on billboards and many women have been lead to believe that this is what true beauty holds, but in reality beauty is in everyone, in every way, shape, and form. For those who have been told they are "too big" to wear a bikini, go for it! If you like something and it makes you happy then go for it and don't let anyone keep you from being who you are.
Drink lots of water before I go out in my swimsuit, SUCK EVERYTHING IN and lastly, just smile!!!
pick a suit you love! if you don't like what you're wearing, it will show. If you are in a suit that you are really happy with, you will glow!
Hold your head up high, shoulders back, (and with big sunglasses on) take a good look around......as bad as you may feel you look, in reality, we are an overweight society and 9 out of 10 women around you aren't ready for the centerfold any time soon either.
I was almost always in shape but after having my baby in my late 30's and quitting the cigarettes at the same time, makes it more difficult to lose weight ! :(
As far as a bathing suit goes, pick one that flatters! Bikini or tankini - wear what you feel comfortable in! When I want to feel gorgeous I pamper my skin. A nice body scrub and your favourite softening lotion the night before you are going to hit the beach can do wonders to your confidence as well. An easy but flattering hair do can also add to your confidence. Think about it..did you ever have a day where you had the best outfit on but your hair was..blehhh - and you felt...yeah, blehhh. Don't make the actually bikini/swimsuit the most important focus!
I was almost always in shape but after having my baby in my late 30's and quitting the cigarettes at the same time, makes it more difficult to lose weight and keep it that way !
I waortable in to be comfortable in my own skin.
Confidence and a huge smile makes any bikini look good...I dont' have the perfect body, but my attitude says I am proud of what I have.
I feel best after a morning jog, and a full-body loofah scrub... also having a super-cute suit helps too!
There's nothing worse than worrying about falling out of a bikini. Pick something that fits properly and makes you feel fabulous. I like bright colors and racerback styles. Find your "happy place" and rock it!
A bathing suit should be just big enough to cover private parts and bright enough to say WOW! Also, I like a bathing suit I can play in - run, swim, wrestle a few children :-)
I feel confortable in my own skin
I do any sort of workout that will get my heart rate up and then take a shower and exfoliate before heading out somewhere important. I always feel sexier then.
Being tan and oiled up def. makes me feel sexier and better in my bikini =)
My secret for being confident in anything I wear is that I have someone who loves me and makes me feel sexy no matter what.
Bikini...body...put on...all in the same sentence?? Crazy talk...lol. Although I've recently adopted a life style change and am now walking 20 kms weekly, I'm far from a bikini body. I do feel better physically and mentally , and slowly some weight is coming off, so what more could I ask. Fit and happy is my goal...bikini body, memories... I was in my twenties once too. LOL
My favorite tip on how to feel most confident in a bikini ? Just keeping in mind that I don't have to be *skinny* to be *healthy*!!! Watching what I eat EVERYDAY, not "dieting", and loving my body with movement (dancing, walking, stretching, SOMETHING) EVERYDAY reminds me it's MY body and I AM the one that needs to take care of it and love it and approve of it :o)
I like a good tan, it makes my body look smoother & more flawless.
Inner confidence that shows on the outside....and a big ol' smile!
To feel confident in my bikini, firstly, I look for a bikini that's flattering to my figure, accentuating the positives and attenuating the negatives. I do workout hard to get rid of flabby thighs and belly, however I know and accept that I'm not perfect. I tuck belly in and walk confidently. Like a friend once told me, cellulite is not my problem but it's the problem of the person behind me. :-).
I'm going to try the new shoes to help tone! Everyone I've talked to say they work and are worth the money...payless has some out now for $40 and less!
I've been doing a new work out where I make a CD of songs that make me wanna move or dance and I dance to it while holding dumbells it's fun and you can really feel it...
I'm 26 years old and have never worn a bikini in my life, so I don't really have any tips... yet. I started working out and eating better about 4 weeks ago and have lost around 10 pounds and probably 3 or 4" from my waist so far. My goal was to be able to wear a bathing suit in public by the end of the summer, so I think having a copy of this book could really help me reach my goal... especially the self-esteem part, as mine has been in the crapper since middle school. Kudos to all the women with the confidence to bear it all though, I envy you and hope to join you soon! : )
If want to look good with bikini, just have to be good mood and love body
Because I used to be heavier, I have stretch marks. I use coco butter and foundation to cover them. But I realized now that I can feel confident even without hiding them :]
I'm not a confident person and exceptionally not in a bikini! But one thing I noticed is that if your walk with your head held high you will look 10 times better even if you don't think so.
I jusy had a baby 9 months ago and although I still have about 15 lbs of baby fat to lose, I'm proud to show off the 35 lbs I've already lost!
I think in order to look beautiful you need to feel beautiful. And even though swimsuit season makes all of us think about the things we don't like about ourselves.....we need to all think about our better traits. Attitude is EVERYTHING! I tell you this from experience! I was 180 lbs....and was turning heads and making guys go WOW!....all while overweight! I have a guy friend to thank for that! When you stop caring about what you think you are suppossed to look like.....and just love yourself for who you are......(without being rude and obnoxious...lol).....your true beauty will shine through and turn heads more than any super model could. A real woman ...who is herself.....always draws more attention then one who is trying to be like someone else.
Take pride in who you are.....after all there's only one of you in this world!
Confidence, in my opinion can only be gained when I focus on everything that makes me great, in terms of looks and as a person. This is my trick for looking confident in a bikini and anything else for that matter.
Strut like you're amazing and everyone would think it. Confidence goes a long way when wearing that bikini.
I have two kids and NO bikini body (even though I still wear one) therefore I do not feel confident in a bikini. However, this spring I have been doing the 30 Day Shred and completely cut out all drinks except water and the occasional adult beverage. Slow progress but getting there!
i try to cut back on salt, and carbs a few days before. also i had 2 kids and i feel that i look pretty good for going through all the changes that are involved. confidence is key.
Wear something that fits, instead of the size you'd like to be, and wear it with confidence.
How i feel most confident in my bikini is finding the right one! If you LOVE IT, you'll want to FLAUNT IT!!! :)
So this year i actually started to work out and am working on my self confidence; few people know its not so high, but in the case that i dont make it to my goal weight, I have found various swin suits that compliment my body as it is and i cant help (even on my bloated fat days) to feel sexy in them! :)
I am far from ready for a bikini, but I do plan to buy a tankini for this summer. My tip is to try several brands and styles and find the one that flatters your body type!
The best thing is to find a swimsuit that makes you feel sexy. And a bit of fake tan for instant colour. Never fails to help me out. Be who you are and flaunt your best assets.
The best thing is to find a swimsuit that makes you feel sexy. And a bit of fake tan for instant colour. Never fails to help me out. Be who you are and flaunt your best assets.
a nice tan always makes me feel better in my bikini!
A fake tan, and walking with great posture ~ it shows confidence!!
I've always been body conscience but as I get older I realize as long as I'm happy, it doesn't matter what I look like in a bikini!
One word, Tankini! I have issues in the belly area. So I flaunt what I have which is a nice booty and rack! Gotta go with what works!
I'm more of the tankini type... but confidence! Having confidence and feeling good about myself is the best thing!
Confidence is key to looking good. If you are confident it makes you feel good. When you feel good you look good. confidence is sexy!
The best way to instantly feel better about how you look in a bikini is to get a TAN. You instantly look a little trimmer and you feel like a glowing goddess :)
Stand tall and be confident and say to yourself 'Why shouldn't I wear a bikini' like everyone else!
I definitely have not felt confident in a bikini since I was in my twenties, so I REALLY probably need this book more than you could ever know. I'm 50 years old and would love to be able to go back to my twenties!
Well... Some years ago I was obsessed about losing weight. I’ve tried a lot of diets and because of that I had big problems with my stomach. There are not so many women satisfied about their body, even they look very nice. So, firstly, the secret is to think positive about your self, and have an optimistic attitude. Secondly, try to do something healthy for looking better, and this will help you not to be dejected. Action helps, while thinking without facts deject! Thirdly, tan a little and wear a lovely bikini, which seems to emphasize your qualities. This is my secret about how I could pass over all my healthy problems. Now I’m really good and satisfied about myself, also when I'm wearing bikini! Good luck everybody!
just think about bikini as a really sexy lingerie and know that you can get a tan at the same time! :)
For me the best way to feel confident in a bikini is to SMILE.....a smile is not only contagious but it draws people to your face...which in return, turns them away from your body. And chances are people will smile back and if I can wear a bikini and get smiled at.....I feel good!
I think feeling confident in your bikini is all about your attitude and confidence level. If you have a good attitude and have confidence you will feel good in anything and anywhere. I'm about 10 pounds overweight and have stretch marks in places I cannot see without a mirror, but I always wear my bikini with confidence and pride because I always try to keep a good attitude about myselft and my life.
i know i'll never be bikini ready but i do prefer the tankini. i have to have confidence in wearing what i'm wearing and feel confortable in it as well.
I think the best way to feel gd in a bikini is just to be yourself. If you're really unhappy and worried about wearing one a few months before cut out all the extra snacks or junk food . This will make you feel better about yourself becasue you wont be as tired from all the sugar rushes off the junk food if you ate proper meals at regualr times.
As many have already said, it's about being confident in who you are. It also helps to find the right bikini for your shape, whether that means a boyshort bottom, frilly top or tankini, maximize the best and you'll feel better.
Whether it's a bikini, a dress or a great pair of jeans, I love only buy clothes I absolutely love and that way I feel confident no matter what I am wearing! :0) You have to love your body for what it is and what it can do for you!
My key to looking better in a bathing suit is to get one that looks good on my body type and that I like. When I have that, I feel great. Also eating healthy is a good idea too
Wearing a bikini confidently, cover-up free is a goal of mine before summer 2010 is over. I am looking for any helpful way to get there because high school summers are supposed to be the best. and that definitely means i've gotta have beach confidence!! =)
I wore a bikini for the first time in my life at age 30. I still remember that great confident feeling of being able to do it with no concerns. I am now 39 and haven't worn one since that first time. I have made a choice to try again and keep it up this time, not just for a one summer thrill. There's still time!!
I feel the most confident in a bikini when the bikini is made of very bright colors and I am indoors with the only light coming from a black light. In fact that is the only time I wear a bikini. I call it my black light bikini. Everybody looks good in a black light.
I share a love hate relationship with my Bikini, I have to stay focused on the parts I do like and the parts that I don't like, well I hope this book will help with that! Just remember, book no book, YOU have the most critical eye on how your body looks, everyone would change at least one thing...
dont say your on a "DIET" just watch what you eat and try to excersise twice a week. hope this helps
Right now the only way I feel confident in a bikini is with a cover up on a deserted island! I used to be able to miss a couple of meals and do a few sit ups & BAM I was back on track again but these days I swear I gain 5 pounds just thinking about a pina colada on the beach!!!
To feel better about yourself in anything - just thank God for what you have. Live, Laugh, Love!!! Do you realize just how amazing you are right now,
and to be able to have 2 legs,2 arms etc. Just yesterday I read an awful story of how a women was helping her friend get her "chimpanzee" in to his cage and the "chimpanzee" ripped off the women's face and hands!!!! This is a true story! The woman was perfect in every way before the accident (she probably didn't think so at the time - but now knows .) Just be thankful everybody - and know that you can have control of being even better inside and outside.
When I'm in a two piece, I end up standing a lot.
There is nothing more beautiful than a confident woman!!! not matter how you look in the outside but if the inside screams IM BEAUTIFUL!! you are sure to preoject that at the beach or anywhere in the world :)... think positive thats how you get to meet your goals!
Confidence, and well fitting swimsuit. If its too small or the wrong style, I'll look bad no matter what!
OH, and a really good hair day!!!!
My favorite way to feel sexy in a bathingsuit it to just be confident with how your body looks then. Your working hard to be beautiful so just flaunt what you got and everyone will think you look AWESOME! My favoirtve tip is to want to be naked and have that set of mind because everyone can be beautiful in their own way
I try to get a suit that fits and isn't squeezing me in unflattering spots.
Tan fat always looks better than pale fat :) I love getting an airbrush tan but Lancome also makes a really good do-it-yourself version called "Flash Bronzer."
I would prefer to wear the tankini with maybe some boy shorts. Not quite ready for bikini yet! But hopefully with the tips from "Look Better Naked" I will be soon!
Knowing that my husband likes me just the way I am. It helps when i am down about my body.
In order for me to feel confident in a bikini I would need for my body to be toned and varicose veins to be covered with leg makeup. Also, since I had a lumpectomy I'd have to get a swimsuit top with proper padding to create the illusion of symmetry. I so want to look great naked.
Selfconfidence is the best thing. Everyone has a "problem area" that they have identified. We are our own worst critics but as long as you maintain confidence in yourself, what you can do, and how you feel, there are no limits! Oh and a sexy looking bikini and fits right always makes me feel confident. But my definition of a sexy bikini is a super simple one color bikini that doesn't distract from the features that are hiding under the bikini...
After having two boys several yearsago (22 and 24),I feel the most confident when I put on something slimming and atractive.
Feeling confident in a bikini is all about attitude. If you have to wear a bikini when you feel like your body is not so bikini-perfect yet, don't stress about it. You are beautiful!
The best way to look confident in a bikini is to FEEL confident! A beautiful and genuine smile goes a long way to let your confidence shine through, no matter what you're wearing!
Confidence makes you feel best in a binkini. I do not know anyone who is completely happy with their body, but having confidence increases anyone's attractiveness. We all have beautiful qualities. I also try to remember something I have heard; although women are critical of our own bodies, men love the way we look, even our bumps and bulges.
I thank the Lord every day that I am healthy I still have my hour glass shape at almost 50. It is definitely not perfect but then whose is. I try hard to keep in shape, exercise, and eat healthy that is the key everything in moderation but it is a work in progress. And I am determined not to worry about all the rest. Good luck everybody.
Im a 28 year old mother of three. Bikini! Oh would I love to put one of those on. But, alas, I have yet to find the right fit. I feel that there is a perfect bikini out there to make any woman look and feel radiant. Its like your own personal super hero outfit. Once you put it on, youre a whole new you! So go out and dedicate a shoping trip to find that perfect two piece, (or one piece, or tankini) Wear it around the house, doing yard work, or even workout in it, and you will boost your confidence. Not only do you instantly LOOK beautiful and sexy, it gives you confidence that your hard work is paying off! You can see the results, and when you excercise and eat right too, you will be ready for the BEACH before you know it!
The best way to look good in a bikini is like other people have said, be confident! being fit is always a good plus, but no matter your size or shape, sometimes you just can't help that, if you feel beautiful and confident, then other people will see you as beautiful and confident. A good tip is to pick a bathing suit that you feel comfortable in. This doesn't mean choose something that covers every inch of you, just pick something that doesn't crawl up your but, or make you pull it up every 2 minutes. pick something that makes you feel beautiful.
I think there are three important things when sporting a bikini. First, Don't compare yourself to others. Some girls have entirely different bodies. Just because yours is different doesn't mean it's not just as sexy. And also, remember those who have been burned or had terrible car accidents. They would kill to go back and have the body you do. Third, Drink lots of water. It not only helps to flush out face fat, but it also keeps you from drinking sugary drinks that put weight on you. Best of all it's fabulous for your skin!!!
I have two tricks - I go to laid-back beaches where people are there to have fun, and I go with people I like! (A cute little cover-up skirt to wear with my bikini top doesn't hurt, either)!
i know that when im freshly shaven that day i always feel better in my bikini, it gives my an unsaid confidence.. and i also love the jergens natutal glow firming moisturizer, i cant always afford to go to the tanning salon but this lotion gives my skin a nice natural looking tan in just a couple applications.
Find you a swimsuit (or any other clothing) that looks fabulous and feels comfy on you and it will automatically build your self-esteem!
I do not feel comfortable in a bikini. I'm heavier now than I was with both of my pregnancies. I too used to be able to do sits ups and miss a few meals and I would be back on track, but now it is getting harder to shed the pounds. I just wear a one piece suit with some kind of wrap around my hip area. That makes me feel a little better.

I'm a home health/hospice nurse. Working with these fantastic people - seeing them face issues that would make most of us pull the covers up over our heads and refuse to get out of bed. Helps me get a better handle on my love handles!
When I want to feel confident in my suit I just look around me. No one is perfect and yet they still look beautiful in their bikini. I know I have to be proud of who I am and hold my head up.I'll instantly look ten times better.
I love finding a super cute bikini and showing it off to all my friends! When i love the bikini i love how i feel and look in the bikini no matter what i look like! :)
I find buying a swim suit that draws attention to areas I like makes me feel good in my swimsuit, currently I have a low cut halter one piece which definately doesn't have people looking at my tummy.
A little Bobbi Brown bronzer on the legs and a smile on my face usuallydoes the trick.
the way to feel confident in a bikini for me is the style of the actual bathing suit some figures look better than others in certain suits the best are those that give attn to the best features
A swim suit that flatters your body shape (play up your positives!), a good tan, and cutting down on sodium intake for a few days before you know you have to wear it.
I have never been able to wear a bikini ever , I have never had the confidence to buy one. I hope this book will help me !!!
I don't know if you have seen the "Dove Real Beauty Campaign", but they promote the fact that every woman is beautifull in her own way. If you wear your bikini with confidence other people wont even notice your flaws (that is the flaws that you think is flaws...) Stop comparing yourself to others!
Enjoy your body! You are beautifull!!!
To look better naked you have to stay fit and believe in yourself. This is the only way that really works!
I always say:Hard work beats talent if talent does not work hard!!!! Nobody has a perfect body, we all need to work hard to get into shape and to be ready for summer and bikini!!!
Look good in a bikini? Hmmmmmm....maybe years ago. I'd like to look good in a bikini.....I really dislke the one piece bathing suits and so hardly ever go poolside/beachside anymore.
To feel good in a bikini I make sure to drink alot of water the day before and try to have a tan. We all look better with some color. I am working hard to tone up my body and try to remember not to set myself back if I :cheat: every once in awhile.
I have always been naturally thin, too thin, according to my husband. I have been able to put on a few pounds and my husband tells me all the time how great I look having some curve. Knowing that men aren't looking for that stick figure should give EVERY woman the confidence to show off what ya got!!!
For me, the best way to feel good in a bikini is to be confident. If you show a lot of confidence and love for your body, others around you really can see the glow!
Also, eating salmon a few hours before you flaunt your bikini self works wonders. I have no clue why, but it always seems to make a difference.
I'm nowhere near bikini ready! But what I remember with anything I wear, if it feels good on, I feel good wearing it! The prettiest/trendiest clothes won't look good if they're not comfortable! :)
DANCE! It is the fun and sexy way to get your body toned and glistening. Dancing helps release pheromones and chemicals in your body that make you feel sexy, rejuvenated, and empowered. Another quick tip when you have a tan or if there is a visible feature you like about your body (ex. legs, arms, chest, back) use an all natural oil to make your skin look and feel nourished and glowing. I use Body Dew by Pure Romance it is the best product ever.
I feel most confident when I listen to my husbands compliments and try to believe them. This is always difficult, but it motivates me and encourages me.
I would like to get an flat stomach. I'm skinny, but my stomach looks bulky despite my exercises and diet food.
It's all about attitude and the way you feel about yourself. It is time women start healing themselves first. I am so sad to see the messed up images we have of ourselves and that we continue to pass it on to the next generation.
I always paint my toenails to match my bikini and I wear my shades when I strut my stuff. When you walk with confidence you are sexy!
Being confident in a bikini is sometimes difficult to fake - i always find that if you get yourself in to a mental state of "i look great" and stand in front of the mirror, you somehow manage to look great - however, i often find this a difficult task when faced with the dreaded bikini and have more of a sarcastic "great, it's that time of the year again" attitude (and looking in the mirror just makes me feel worse). Therefore, I find that putting on inexpensive accesories, that won't get damaged easily by the sun, water, or sand, (often accompanied by a big hat) will more often than not make me feel lese 'naked' and more confident about the shape I'm in!
summer is here ... i like the way my body looks in bathingsuit, but i still know that cold months with no "shape-checking" have its unpleasant effect on it too :#
women who appreciate confident look needs this book..i really need it !
Love yourself really is the best advice. However, if you're 63 as I am, maybe a bikini isn't your best bet, even if you do run and work out regularly :) My husband still thinks I look better naked, but a well-cut one piece or tankini works best for my public appearances.
with right accesories like long neck pieces and sexy romantic yet messy waves/curls, one can look good naked.. and also not forgetting concealing all the flaws to outshadow the right cuts.. :P
Thats all I would say...
I found the best thing is to make sure you find a cut of bikini that flatters you. If you have problem areas you want to hide there are so many different styles, you are sure to find one that compliments your strengths and minimizes your imperfections. Wearing the wrong cut of suit will make you uncomfortable when you don't need to be!
We are all different shapes and sizes-Our imperfections should be embraced as a sign of our different journeys. So just be happy in your own skin and it will show through.
good posture! and just admire yourself as you prepare to venture out in your bikini.
I write this to tell people not what I do, but what my beautiful mother (of 2 kids) does to look beautiful in a bikini. She is a natural beauty, and I believe she looks wonderful all the time, but what really compliments her bikini ready body is a great tan. If you have a natural glow about you, it seems as if you belong out in the sun, and in a bikini. As stated in many of the other comments, you also have to believe your beautiful. If you work it, people will respond in a positive manner. You Go Girls!! ;)
I put self tanner on then add a little sparkle to my legs with a lotion that has shimmer in it. Then I put on my big sunglasses and I alway wear a pink and Black bikini. The pink is fun and the black is sexy. I also wear a fliip flop with a little heal so my legs get a little shape and it lifts you butt a bit.
I would feel more confident this year because i have lost 70 lbs. I just need to figure out how to tone up the loose and wrinkled skin now.
For me it is a simple (or not so simple) matter of finding the right fit. It's worth the effort and work in the long run! I make sure that the top compliments well and the bottom is not too tight. If there's anything I don't want in a swimsuit, it's a muffin top! Focus on the positive and always smile - that's what makes me feel sexy :) Attitude really is everything!
wear a bathing suit that actually fits you right. too many people wear bikinis that just don't fit them well, and getting the right type can make a huge difference.
If you wear your bikini around the house the day before you plan on wearing it out in front of people, it gives you motivation to suck in that tummy, and maybe move a little more (exercise???). Works for me!
Be grateful for your healthy body each day . Exercise and eat right . Celebrate Healthy... if you want to wear a bikini, then go ahead. Who really cares if you don't look like the latest mag cover. Be happy and have fun with family and friends. Remember that Life is short and not a rehearsal....In the words of an old song...Don't worry Be Happy!
I'm a teenager and surrounded by the pressures of being skinny. Between the models on tv and the teensy people in magazines the pressure to be skinny is worst than ever. For most bikini season is the worst, but I see it as a way to boost my confidence by not caring how other people see me, but how gorgeous I see myself. Getting over self confidence issues makes me feel the best in my bikini.
I always do a few sit ups right after I put on my bikini and before I look in the mirror. That way, when I look in the mirror, I feel fit, which makes me more confident about my body. But most of all, I tell myself that I am sexy, and that confidence works for me!
The best way to feel confident in a bikini.....feel it. If I feel beautiful... I project my own confindence in my beauty... FEEL IT LADIES!!!
Sexy to me isn't limited to thin its the way you carry yourself its the ability to laugh at yourself, its seeing someone in emotional pain and being able to overlook your own personal space and take the time to help that person out . Sexy is being free to be yourself and not worrying what others think or say.. It's having an air of class with out being snobby or selfcentered... Few have it and those that do don't even know it because they aren't worried about being sexy...
i always feel great in a bikini when im with my boyfriend and hes there telling me how great i look, or if i do a bit of exercise right before i leave, drink plenty of water and a coconut smelling sunscreen on.
Make up your mind to be bikini ready and beautiful and the battle is won!
I like to do a few situps before I head to the pool, or break a sweat. It quickly boots my self esteem and makes me feel thinner. Also I try my hardest to only look in the mirror once. The more time you look in the mirror the more problems you find! Get out of in front of the mirror!
I feel confident when I have a nice tan =)
There are a few tips that help me feel more confident in a bikini. Confidence, Posture, and buying the right bikini for your body shape. There are many things to keep in mind including color and shape. I have a flatter chest and bigger thighs so it is important to buy a bikini that best flatters my body shape.
lots of water
confident and sexy has nothing to do with shape, size or build..... Its all in the way you view yourself. So whether it be a fully clothed in bikini or naked I love myself and every inch of my body reguradless of what others may think. If i put it on and leave the house it means Im comfortable in what I have on!
I decided a few weeks ago to cut my meals 1/2. This alone has helped me feel ready for bikini time. :) Just cutting down on the intake of food at each meal helps.
Feeling confident in a bikini is all about attitude! Postitive attitude!!
IM NOT QUITE SURE THAT A BIKINI IS RIGHT FOR ME BECAUSE OF 4 C-SECTIONS BUT I FEEL GREAT IN MY TANKINI WITH A LITTLE SKIRT IT HELPS ME FEEL CONFIDENT AND I KEEP MY HEAD HELD HIGH
The best way I can boast confidence in a bikini is organic custom spray tanning. It's not only healthy for your skin, but it hides any skin imperfections and has a major slimming effect to it. I love, love, LOVE organic custom spray tans. Every woman she try it out!
I'm sure most people would not like to see me in a bikini, but if they don't like what they see my advice is not to look. That's the attitude that keeps me confidant in a bikini, plus i believe it's all about what's inside.
I am a mommy of three and I'm only 26 and have never worn a bikini since i was 8, I think it's about time to show my kids that they can have a hot momma and i think i deserve it.
water water
Wear your bikini around the house a few days before "the big beach day". You won't feel as odd around people.
I've never felt comfortable in a bikini. I would like to learn how to.
EVERY woman out there, supermodels included, have people who find them attractive and people who do not. The only person a woman needs to worry about pleasing is herself. One thing that helps me is to get AWAY from the mirror. Once you do that, picture yourself as beautiful and confident, walk tall, and enjoy the sun, the ocean, and your loved ones. You will never be able to please everyone!

for me -- 2 kids past bikini ready for the past few years -- the best tool for looking simply smashing in swimwear (or anything) is sheer joy -- and maybe avoiding salt for a few days :-)
