#1 Guy Magnet: Sexy Hair Or Plunging Neckline

The average Joe walks into a singles bar and spots two girls across the room. (We swear, this isn't a joke.) One girl stands out because she has gorgeous, shiny hair with loads of touchable volume. The other girl grabs his attention because she's wearing a risqué top that reveals ample cleavage plumped up by a push-up bra. Which girl do you think Joe will actually want to hit on first?

The answer is promising for the under-C-cup crowd: A recent study conducted by Pantene found that 58% of men are more likely to approach a woman with great hair, than a woman wearing a low cut shirt. Really?

Naturally, we were suspect of this surprising statistic and welcomed the chance to ask hook-up expert Steve Ward, who hosts VH1's "Tough Love" and is CEO of Master Matchmakers, to explain further on behalf of single men across the country. "It's really a coin toss. Six out of 10 men would approach a girl with sexy hair first. It's not heavily skewed, but enough that I know hair plays a great role in a woman's sex appeal," says Ward.

How could this be true? We're all so brainwashed to think that Baywatch boobs are the holy grail of being that girl that gets all the guys. According to Ward, men infer a lot about a woman based on her hair, but they may not be conscious of this (which explains why a woman's hairstyle lags far behind the topic of her tatas in the locker room).

"When you see a guy who's wearing cheap shoes and a cheap suit, you'll think he's cheap. You can say the same thing about a woman who doesn't pay attention to her hair. If it's dirty, greasy, or even overly done and not natural looking, she won't look attractive." On the other hand, if your date night hairstyle exudes sex appeal, excellent health, and a soft texture that beckons to be touched, you're golden.

Obviously, we had to ask Ward, who's successfully helped hundreds of women hook the hunk: What makes a hairstyle sexy?

1. Long locks are most desirable. "The majority of men prefer long hair and that goes back since the dawn of time. Long hair is a sign of fertility and youth and when you go shorter, it conveys that that part of your life is over," says Ward. But that doesn't mean women with short hair can't look sexy. "A woman's collar bone and defined facial structure are very sexy and short hair can play that up."

2. Thickness equals substance. "When you see a woman who has thick, healthy hair, guys infer that she also has a lot of substance as a person, and that's attractive," says Ward.

3. Sexy hair should look and feel so natural, that he'll think you were born that way. These days, according to Ward, women depend on fake hair too much when they want to boost the thickness and length of their hair. "When you can see the tracks of her extensions, that's sends two messages: '1, I'm fake and 2,don't touch me or you'll mess it up!," says Ward. Use products instead of extensions to get more volume. But watch out, sticky hair isn't attractive either. A great styler: Pantene Fine Triple Action Volume Mousse.

4. It can't be gray. "I'm an expert on men's attitude, not hair. From this perspective, I know for certain than a woman's hair should never be gray. I don't care how much it costs or what you have to do, but gray equals old. Period,' says Ward.

Bottom line: Instead of struggling to decide what outfit to wear on your next date, just spend a few extra minutes styling you hair.

Well that sucks. I have natural D-cups and am proud of them, but short, fine hair that goes limp after a couple of hours, no matter how much time and effort I put into it. It refuses to grow past my shoulders and looks terrible when I try. Push-up bras are cheap and easy, but if extensions don't work (or do but are a huge hassle and really expensive), then I'm at a loss. Totally unfair :-P

Good thing I'm married already :)

Unfortunately, not many men have women in their lives who have gray hair, grandmother has been it for a lot of guys. When they run across those of us out here with gray hair that they are attracted to in a sexual way, usually they are surprised. Just as surprised as I am when I run across a man with a penis larger than his pinky. From what I've found, it's generally those guys of proportionate build that are on the same level as women who are who they are and love their own natural beauty. Grrrrrr

I totally agree that natural looking, shiny, thick, soft and healthy hair is sexy. That is why I stopped coloring my hair and embraced my sexy, sassy, and yes silver locks! You missed the mark by saying "a woman's hair should never be gray" Sometimes a healthy head of shiny, soft, luxurious, touchable silver hair is far sexier then that same head unnaturally colored, dried out and brittle hair due to the chemicals in the coloring process.

I have both, double D bra, and beautiful hair ( i spend alot of time on), and i have attractive facial features. I get attn thats for sure. but I think its all about the COLOR of hair that does it for guys.. I am a dark blonde. But when i happen to look around I see all the PLATINUM blonde headed girls getting most ofl the attn. And they are not particularily attractive in regard to facial features. I mean there are tons of brunettes and other various haircolors in the room that are far more attractive. But let a platinum blonde walk in and men act like they have never seen a woman before. I dont know if its because of publications like "Playboy" and the Adult fim Industry that features more platinum blonde women in their material or WHAT???? So thats MY take on it. Who the heck knows?

I agree completely! I really don't think it matters what color your hair is - I have red hair and I never have a problem even next to a blond, the biggest thing to remember is your personality has to catch attention to. Platinum blonds know this, they are flirty giving the guy lots of attention... or at least a lot of them and the ones I see do this, but I have seen red heads, brunnetts and pretty much every other hair color catch a guys attention as long as they are simi atractive and they are willing to pay attention to that other person. And I really do think that has the biggest thing when it come's down to it!

I completely and totally agree! I am a DDD and I don't have time to make my hair perfect... So if my chest is not good enough. Oh well.
