Hello again from Cosmoprof! Day 2 brought lots of exciting new launches and I had a hard time choosing which one to feature today. In the end though, there was one brand that stood out from the pack that I know you guys are going to love.

Kelly Teegarden Organics is a full range of skin and hair products that are completely chemical-free. Founder Kelly Teegarden created the line out of necessity--she was diagnosed with stage III thyroid cancer and her body cannot handle chemicals.

"From the day I was diagnosed with cancer, I changed everything in my house for good. I was driven to know what I was doing or what I was being exposed to that was the cause of my cancer," she said. What Kelly uncovered was that everything from the food she ate to the beauty products she used on her skin were full of ingredients that had been rated by the FDA as "cancer-causing."

While there are plenty of natural and organic products on the market, not all of them are 100% chemical-free. "What I learned when I was researching other options is that nautral products can still have chemicals in them. That was really alarming to me because I didn't know that--I wasn't a label-reader," says Kelly.

The line consists of products for the face, body and hair, as well as a baby line and a, ahem, personal lubricant, each one completely-free of chemicals. I tried out the Royal Jelly Body Lotion, a water-free lotion that uses royal jelly produced by honeybees. It gives the lotion a super-luxurious feel and imparts a sexy, almost shimmery sheen on the skin that exactly replicates the glow you see celebrities rocking on the red carpet. As Kelly says, it feels "delicious" on your skin and does an amazing job of hydrating without sacrificing your health in the process.

I know the so-called green market is overrun with brands trying to jump on the bandwagon, but Kelly earned my pick of the day because this isn't a fad for her, it's a way of life. She's very passionate about educating people about the dangers of chemicals. It doesn't hurt that the line itself is absolutely addictive--the scents are all essential oil-based and the texture of each product felt heavenly on the skin. Right now the line will only be sold on their website--kellyteegardenorganics.com--which launches next week, but we have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot more of Kelly and her products in the upcoming months.
