Walk Of Shame Beauty Strategies
-
So last night you met a cute guy at the bar, hit it off, and then headed back to his place. Now it's morning and you're looking like a hot mess and need to make yourself presentable for your journey back home. No one wants to look like they're doing the Walk of Shame--smudged eye makeup, crazy hair and 4-inch heels at 9 a.m.--so follow these expert tips on how to hide the evidence of your hook up. Because the whole neighborhood doesn't need to know what you were doing last night.

Wear dark eye makeup like Olivia Wilde? Then be prepared for some massively messy eyeliner in the a.m. To avoid looking like a hungover raccoon, Stila pro artist Sarah Lucero says to use waterproof mascara and liner the night before--they tend to last longer and are less likely to smudge. Just in case, pack a few Almay Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks in your bag--they're the size of a Q-Tip and provide a single dose of makeup-removing liquid that will wipe away any morning-after smudges.

If you don't want his first sight of you the next morning to be with crazy bedhead hair, opt for a simply sexy hairstyle like Ashley Benson. "Try a great, simple blowout for your night on the town," says Remington celebrity stylist Richard Marin. "If you do a lot of curls, texture, or an elaborate updo it's a nightmare to repair the next morning."

Dark red lipstick, while undeniably sexy, can be a turn-off for guys. Not only will it get all over him when you are kissing, it will also rub off on his pillows and sheets. Instead, Lucero recommends wearing a rosy lip stain like Lyndsy Fonseca here. Her fave? Stila's Cherry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain because it "smells like cherries and enhances your natural lip tone, plus you can pop a little bit on cheeks for extra glow."

Your new friend will not appreciate your makeup staining his pillowcases, so do him a favor and skip the heavy foundation. Use a powder foundation to give your skin a naturally radiant look like Zoe Saldana. "Powder foundations smooth out any imperfections and corrects uneven texture. You won't see the makeup--you just see beautiful skin," says Lucero.

Because you never know where the night will take you, cram whatever beauty essentials you can into your clutch. "The Remington T-Studio Pearl Ceramic Straightini is incredibly small, so you can fit it in your purse, and it can fix bangs or ends that went crazy on you overnight," says Marin. He also suggests adding an invisible ponytail holder and a dozen bobby pins to your bag, so you can create a casual updo or a ponytail like Shay Mitchell's in a pinch.

Nobody looks radiant and fresh-faced when they first wake up. Fake a gorgeous glow like Cameron Diaz with this trick from Lucero: Apply a little powder pink blush to the apples of your cheeks to mimic the flush you get after a romantic rendezvous. Take a retractable powder brush, dip the brush into your blush, then cap it and throw in your bag for later. This will come in handy at some point later on, plus it helps save space in your bag for other must-haves, she says.

It's ok if you didn't pack any products--both Lucero and Marin recommend borrowing from your new man. "These days guys use just as much product for their appearance as we do," says Lucero. Her suggestions? "Use Vaseline as a lip balm, on lashes to make them look darker, or to apply to chapped areas like the elbows and knees--just saying!" For oily hair, Marin says to shake a bit of baby powder in your roots, flip hair upside down and shake it out. If your hair is dry, use a dab of sunscreen or body lotion--just on the ends--and finger comb through.

For an easy, current look the morning after, do a ponytail with some volume at the crown like Doutzen Kroes, says Marin. Secure the pony high in position (he likes the middle of the back of the head) and secure with a non-damaging hair elastic. Make sure to pull your ponytail close to the sides of your head and backcomb at the crown for volume. To finish it off, grab a pinch of hair at the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic for a finished look. Use a small bobby pin to secure.
