While it's definitely the time of year to indulge a little--who can pass up pumpkin pie or peppermint bark?--it's also the typical time when a few pounds sneak up on you. Don't panic--getting back to a sensible eating plan and workout routine will get you back on track in just a few weeks. In the meantime, if you want to look five pounds thinner by tonight, try switching up your hairstyle.
Just like the perfect little black dress can make your body look sleeker, a flattering hairstyle can take pounds off of your appearance. Here are the three key tips to remember when looking for a slimming hairstyle.

1. Try a side part. A side part allows you to sweep bangs or long face-framing pieces diagonally over your face, which breaks up a round face shape. This style can also bring out your cheekbones.
2. Your hair length should at least skim the shoulders. A cut that is around shoulder length or slightly longer creates the illusion of a longer, leaner face. Short cuts aren't a good option because they can add more width to an already full face shape.
3. Play with layers. Layers around nape level can help minimize a double chin and give more definition to the shoulder area. If you have fine hair, layers will also give it a body boost. But make sure you don't get layers that are shorter than chin length, which could add an unflattering wideness to your face.

She already is skinny, how can we tell the difference? You should take an Average woman and get an hair style that compliments her face.
of course she's slim, look at that chin, she's no roundface.
I thought there would be some normal women.. not the likes of celeb's.. who have hundreds of stylist to work w/ them.
Then they pick so me hair styles that look like they need to go shower and wash their hair.. what is w/ the limp.. I didn't have time to brush / fluff my hair ??
On a bad day.. I look better than they do.. and am almost 60
Have to agree with all who have posted as of yet....get some everday/anonymous women to show how different cuts/styles would change appearances.
now THAT is a very true statement!
It would be helpful for those of us without long hair to see something that a shorter cut and style could do for the face. I had to have chemo after cancer and my hair is short and thinner than it used to be so I am finding it difficult to find something flatteriing that I have enough hair for.
