It was a total Seventies moment backstage at the Fall 2009 Tommy Hilfiger fashion show.

Makeup artist Lisa Butler of MAC was inspired by the "late Seventies Lauren Hutton" and wanted to create a look from that was both natural and glamorous.

She washed lids with a yellow-gold powder shadow called Goldmine, then used a patina gold kohl liner called Powersurge on the lower lashline, creating a softened, slightly smoky gold eye.

Skin was glowing and fresh and cheeks were given a dab of tawny peach blush to warm up the complexion. Lips were light and fresh with a sheer creamy pink shade.

Lead hairstylist Luigi Murenu also went for a low-key glam look, giving models a loose and wavy style.

Hair was done sleek and flat in the front and girly and wavy in the back.

"It's a mix of softness and hardness," he explained.

Nails were done in a sheer, flesh-tone hue with flashes of gold, a shade that was custom-blended for the show by CND.
