Step 1: Starting with curly, dry hair, isolate a halo section of hair on top of your head.

Step 2: Take a two-inch section within the halo and hold straight up. Use a tight-toothed comb and back comb in short strokes along the back of the section down toward your scalp. Repeat with all sections within the halo.

Step 3: Using a natural-bristle brush, smooth the hair on the surface of the halo section as you direct it back. Use several bobby pins to secure in back, then mist with hairspray and add a decorative headband.
