Avon hairstylist Allen Ruiz created a pretty punky chignon for the Thuy Fall 2009 Fall Fashion show.
Styling Tip
“The sides hug the head, but there’s lot going on in back,” explains Ruiz. First, sweep hair back and to one side, then roll hair inwards to create a chignon. Pull the ends of the hair up through the chignon to they poke out on top. To give it a slightly rough texture on top, Ruiz used bobby pins around the hairline. “Just take a bobby pin, pinch it over a small section about an inch back from your hairline, twirl the pin once then slip it in. It creates great definition.”
