Styling Tip
Step 1: Apply a shine serum such as Pantene Pro-V Curly Hair Style Anti-Frizz Straightening Creme ($6.29, Walgreens.com) to get a smooth texture to start with.
Step 2: Gather all of the hair and start to twist the hair up into a French twist. Apply bobbi pins while moving up the head to keep in place.
Step 3: Once you get to the crown of your head, stop twisting and apply bobby pins underneath loose hair to create a flowing ponytail. Let the hair fall.
Step 4: Pull the ponytail up and apply a volumizing spray such as Pantene Fine Hair Lasting Volume Maximum Hold Hairspray ($4.49, Soap.com) underneath to get the volume on top. Think retro volume, not Snooki poof.
Step 5: If you have bangs like Zooey, flatiron straight and apply a texturizing spray to roughen the bangs and add movement.
Step 6: Loosen hair around the ears so the style isn’t too structured. Apply a strong hold hairspray such as Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Style Pro-Shaping Extra Strong Hold Aerosol Hairspray ($6.27, Walmart.com) to hold the look in place.
