World traveling Gibson Girls, I have an answer to all your packing problems!!! I just launched and AMAZING travel essential kit called Get Set To Jet Set. It has some of my most coveted beauty haircare items for your traveling pleasure: Hairsheet Styling, Beautiful Hold Hairspray, Daily Cleanse Shampoo and Daily Nourish Conditioner. They all come in convenient travel-size bottles and a lovely pink box that you can use over and over again after you have finished all the products.
I travel quite a bit for work. I go to Ft Lauderdale for vacation (soon I’ll have a salon there, but I’ll tell you more about that later), Isle de France in St Barths, The Ritz Carlton in Cayman Islands, and Strawberry Hill in Jamaica. From November till February, I do fashion shoots in some of these places too. Talk about having a great time! Some of the photographers that I work with are Anne Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier, Gilles Bensimon, Joshua Jordan, Diego Uchitel and Mark Seliger. What a life. Travel on someone else’s dime…not a bad deal at all.
My darlings, tell me about some of the most fabulous places that you have been to. I am always interested in other peoples travels and adventures. Tell me all.
As always, remember Beauty Is Individual.

Well Gibson Girls, I am sure some of you may have experienced this situation. It isn’t the easiest thing to bring up, but it happens. Let’s talk about it. A “starter wife” is a woman who gets married and supports her husband when he is nothing…supports him during medical school, taking the bar exam, etc. Then, after getting him to where he is very successful and making tons of money, he divorces her and gets another wife. Usually the new wife looks just like the old wife, but she is younger. Has this happened to you? Tell me about it. I would love to hear your story.
Debra Messing is a Gibson Girl and I did her for the View a few weeks ago. You can watch it here on youtube. Doesn’t she look amazing? Love her! She is just like you see her.
I also did Debra for an event for the Fashion Group International party honoring really amazing designers like Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein. She wore
kaufmanfranco and looked incredible.
The reason I bring Deb up is that she stars in a show on this very subject called
The Starter Wife on USA network. It is a brilliant show and don’t miss it. TIVO if you have too.
See how shiny Deb Messing’s hair is? I used Build It Blowdrying Agent, then Tame It Shine Lotion to add brilliant shine to those beautiful tresses. Tip: If you want shiny hair always rinse with cool water.
And as always, Beauty Is Individual.

I think that is always the question most women have about their image. To Be or Not To Be? Can I be sexy like Angelina Jolie, or chic like Anne Hathaway, trendy like Joy Bryant, sophisticated like Hillary Swank, modern like Victoria Beckham, or super cool like Beyonce?
Yes, you can be all of those things. I think a haircut, as simple (kind of) as it is, really reflects how you feel about yourself. But trusting your stylist goes a long way. I recommend Ron at Bo Salon in Austin, TX, Eli at Thomas Chase in Santa Monica, CA, Frank Rizzieri in Marlton, NJ and Neven at Ted Gibson in DC which will be opening on September 1.

We all know the “bob” is still very HOT and will be for a while. Here is a look I created for Kate Walsh (left). I love creating bobs at my salon, they’re always a refreshing change of pace. Cutting hair makes my heart sing and I can tell when a woman really loves the fact that she has changed her look and the way she feels about herself.
Do you have a favorite stylist? What makes him or her special? I would love to hear.

Wow! I have the most fantastic job on the planet. Being with some of the most beautiful women in the world makes me so happy. When they say, “Ted, I love you!” that lets me know that I have made their event. What a gift it is to be with these women on some of their most important days.
It has definitely been the month of redheads. I worked with Deb Messing (Oct. 14th, shown at left), Kate Walsh (David Letterman on Oct. 1st), and supermodel Karen Elson (Sept. ’08 Beauty Biz cover). What I love about redheads is their determination and love for what they do. They are always so HOT!
To create Debra Messing’s look, I used Build It Blow Drying Agent to add volume and sexiness at the scalp. Spray about 5 pumps at the scalp starting at the hairline and work your way back. Next, I applied Fix It Gel to fill in the cuticle and create hold in her hair. My Professional Blow Dryer softens and gets hair straight in record time. Then for the finishing touch, Beautiful Hold Hairspray is the answer for all you girls that hate stiff, sticky hairsprays. It will change the way you think about hairspray.
Celebrity hair is so much fun to do. I go to hotel rooms, suites, mansions, and my salon to get them ready for a red carpet event. Have you always wanted to be a celebrity for a day? Tell me about it.
And always remember that Beauty Is Individual.
