No doubt, Jessica Biel is one of today’s sexiest stars. What’s most enviable: Her well toned body? Her long glossy hair? Her glowing blemish-free skin? Well, today it’s her…eyelashes! Yes, sexy, dark, thick alluring lashes are her irresistible mating call to co-star Pharrell Williams in Revlon’s new Hypnoteyezed commercial that launches on June 13th to promote the latest Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara.
The black and white spot, directed by Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Black Swan), is a sultry film-noir scene of an Old Hollywood-esque romance featuring the seductive duo and her lashes are true scene-stealer.
When I got a chance to sit down with Biel to preview the commercial and talk beauty shop, she admitted, “When I’m wearing mascara, I feel sexier, my eyes look brighter, and there’s a confidence that comes out.” Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara, $7.99, is a new thickening formula that also strengthens lashes to improve their natural growth. I tried it and was impressed that it made my lashes look thick and it really didn’t smudge or clump up.
I also tried this application tip that Biel said she picked up from a pro makeup artist and swears by: Gently press the handle of a makeup brush against the top of your lash line to lift it up, then wiggle the mascara brush head right below your lashes and swipe upwards. This will coat and thicken the base of your lashes and create a very thick, lush lash effect. It may sound tricky, but it wasn’t too hard and made a difference than just the regular swipe’n'go method.
But since we’re obsessed with all the other gorgeous aspects of Biel at Daily Makeover, I had to pump her for more beauty tips:
RH: How do you keep in such great shape?
JB: “I workout a lot and sweat like an animal.”
RH: Ugh. Hard work.
RH: How do you get such gorgeous skin?
JB:“I try to get enough sleep and drink a lot of water.”
RH: Ugh. Good genetics.
RH: What do you eat when you’re in the mood to snack?
JB: “Veggies and hummus. I also like carrots and almond butter. Sounds weird, but it’s a great combo.”
RH: OK, at least this is feasible.
And, finally, one surprising thing I found out: She really liked wearing a fake baby bump when filming her upcoming “New Year’s Eve” flick. “I play a pregnant woman and I had to wear this big belly and I’d walk around rubbing it and rocking back and forth, it felt very natural. Not alien at all,” she said. No doubt, if she ever does get knocked up in real life, she’ll be one of those women who look fabulous throughout the whole term. Oh, the envy!
