I consider myself a pretty big Bethenny Frankel fan. I’ve followed her since the first season of The Real Housewives of New York and I read her book, A Place Of Yes, as soon as it came out, so you can imagine how excited I was to find out I would be interviewing her about the new Skinnygirl skin care line (There might have been a squeal or two…). Here are 5 fun things I learned during our meeting:

1. Bethenny is exactly like she is on her reality show, potty mouth and all!

On why she wanted a skin care line, Bethenny said, “I wanted an anti-bullshit, straight-forward line. I saw products that are so expensive, making false promises with trendy, trigger ingredients that would people feel like they would get this amazing benefit. It’s duping the consumer with high price tags, when the money is all in the packaging, rather than in the product, and I wanted to improve things.”

2. Her makeup line isn’t the only inexpensive thing Bethenny likes.

When I asked her what beauty products she keeps in her own purse, Bethenny pulled out a Sonia Kashuk makeup bag, which can be found at Target. Not bad for a woman worth millions.

3. She doesn’t know what that weird, gimmicky beauty item is, either.

As soon as Bethenny said she kept a cooling stick in her makeup bag (brand unknown), I was instantly intrigued and asked about it. Once she started talking about it, she realized she didn’t really know what it did, either. “See, that’s why I now carry a line. (The label) says it has Arctic heather in it. What the hell is that?”

4. The products are kind of awesome and extremely low priced!

There is already a huge range of products, whether you need some pick-me-up makeup, age reversing creams or fun shower products. There are even items designed specifically for pregnant women and moms, like Energizing Leg Cream ($8.99, Walmart.com), which targets moms’ tired and aching limbs.

5. Even Bethenny’s 2-year-old, Bryn, is getting in on the makeup excitement.

“Bryn’s very into makeup. She says makeup. She’s so girly. We will look at cupcakes, and she wants the pink one. It’s so fun for everyone.”

If you’re interested in getting your hands on Skinnygirl skin care items, they are available at Walmart stores and their site, and if you’re interested in talking to Bethenny, she will be hosting a Twitterparty on March 26th at 9:30pm EST for 30 minutes to talk about her skin care line and give beauty advice as a lead-up to her new show.

Are you as big a fan of Bethenny as I am?
