Lady Gaga. Cyndi Lauper. Nicki Minaj. These are just a few past style icons who have fronted MAC campaigns. Now, MAC has bestowed an honor beyond “spokesperson” to a veritable fashion legend: Miss Piggy. The cosmetics line just announced a brand-new, online-exclusive eye makeup collection in honor of the multifaceted porcine goddess, who is starring in the new Muppets movie. The Miss Piggy for MAC collection includes a frosty eyeshadow called, of course, “Miss Piggy Pink,” Rapidblack eyeliner and full, lush lashes—perfect for batting at your frog prince of choice.
MAC isn’t the only place with Muppet fever. O.P.I. has released a limited edition of Muppet-themed nail polishes. With colors such as “Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It” and “Fresh Frog of Bel Air,” the exclusive collection is bright and fun—just like the Muppets themselves. “Not only do The Muppets characters inspire fun, bright and joyful colors, the fashionable Miss Piggy lends her name to three high-shine pink-based hues,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.
The honors don’t stop there: Miss Piggy is also featured in an editorial fashion spread in InStyle magazine. The elegant pig models designs by Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu with Brian Atwood shoes. She also gives a candid video interview in which she brazenly insults Lady Gaga’s infamous Kermit the Frog dress. “Those were faux frogs,” the always outspoken Miss Piggy scoffed. “I’ve had the real Kermit wrapped around my neck.” And now she’s also had Jason Wu custom-design a dress for her. Miss Piggy is a (kind of) living legend.
