Selena Gomez is releasing her own perfume.
The 18-year-old actress says she’s been creating a signature fragrance for the past 12 months and can’t wait for people to smell it.
She told E! Online, “I’ve been working on my fragrance for almost a year
now. I’m excited, because it’s something I’m interested in. I’m already
doing the whole process of smelling things and designing it and the campaign
and everything, so it’ll be fun.”
Selena’s scent won’t launch until next year, so maybe in the meantime she can get a few pointers from her boyfriend, Justin Bieber–his perfume looks set to become the top-selling woman’s fragrance of 2011.
The 17-year-old singer’s scent, Someday, generated more than $3
million in retail sales at Macy’s in under three weeks and
experts are already hailing its debut on June 23 as the most successful
celebrity fragrance launch in history, beating out A-List stars like Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and even Britney Spears.
Karen Grant, vice president and senior global industry analyst of the NPD
Group Inc., said, “If it sustains this momentum, it will become the
number-one-selling fragrance of 2011. We haven’t seen anything like it since
[Jennifer Lopez's] Glow and [Britney Spears'] Curious.”
