To get an attention-grabbing hairdo, celebrity stylist Mark Townsend says to add a large dollop of Dove’s Body and Lift Mousse ($4.29, Drugstore.com) to damp hair, and blow dry it with a round brush. Divide hair into 3-inch sections and spritz some flexible hold hairspray onto each section before wrapping it around a 2 inch curling iron. Add extra shine by rubbing a small amount of Dove’s Nourishing Oil Leave-in Smoothing cream ($5.59, Drugstore.com) through hair.

Most women give their razors a long break in the winter and keep their legs covered, but great looking stems are sure to get a second glance. Get smooth skin with the Venus Embrace razor ($10.99, Drugstore.com) and Prtty Peaushun ($36.00, B-glowing.com), a cream with light-reflecting particles that will firm skin and camouflage imperfections.

Dress up your hair with a sparkly clip or colorful headband (We love the ones from Ban.do)! Not only will your head look a bit more festive, but it will pull hair away from your face, showing off your beautiful features and (hopefully) flawless makeup.

Just because you don’t plan on showing anyone what’s hiding underneath that sparkly holiday dress doesn’t mean you can’t wear lingerie for you. There’s just something about a lacy bra and panty set that makes a girl feel good. We like this Eventide Formation Set ($36-$78, Anthropologie.com).

Cold weather can strip your face of its natural oils, and heavy holiday makeup can further irritate the problem. To keep Kristen Stewart’s skin moisturized during the filming of Twilight Breaking Dawn, makeup artist Stacey Panepinto used SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque ($52, Skinceuticals.com). Try applying the mask 15 minutes before your makeup for an extra sexy glow.

The only way to get a truly confident smile is with sparkly white teeth. Crest’s new 3D White Whitestrips ($40.99, Drugstore.com) only take 2 hours to whiten, so you have more time to enjoy your night out! Just remember not to brush your teeth right before using the strips. According to NYC Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Michael Apa, the flouride from toothpaste will prevent your teeth from absorbing the bleach, which will make the strips less effective.

Red lips are an instant attention grabber. Let them stand out by toning down your eye makeup and blush. If you don’t think you can pull red lips off, chances are you haven’t found the right shade yet. Keep trying! We love the Scarlet Rouge Lip Color from Tom Ford ($48, shop.nordstrom.com).

If the weather outside is absolutely unbearable, put on a pair of fun tights. Black is boring, and stores now have such a variety to choose from. These giraffe tights ($14, Urbanoutfitters.com) are adorable and would look great with an otherwise boring outfit.

Since Whitney Port looks hot every time we see her, we thought we’d ask her opinion on looking great at holiday parties. “I love to browse second hand stores, because they always have great necklaces that look unique but aren’t expensive. I’ll layer a few of them over a simple black dress to make it festive for a cocktail party. I also like to look out for big cocktail rings. They’re so easy and fun.” Sounds good to us!

French Connection’s Silver Samantha Sequin Dress ($298, frenchconnection.com) is just one example of a show-stopping outfit. Whatever dress you decide on for your holiday parties, make sure it’s the perfect one for you.

After a long night of dancing, mingling and drinking eggnog, it can be incredibly tempting to go straight to bed. Fast forward to the next morning, and you look like you’ve been in a bar fight, your skin is breaking out, and your sheets are a mess. Go the alternate route, and take off your makeup with a rinse-free solution, like Bioderma Créaline H20 ($28, Beautyhabit.com). You can also apply a deep cleansing mask, like Clark’s Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask ($72, Clarksbotanicals.com) before bed.

Not only does a clutch make a great accessory, it also has the important responsibility of holding your lipstick. We love Jessica Alba’s bejeweled clutch. It is simple enough to not upstage her dress, but it adds an extra oomph to her look.

There’s nothing particularly original about the little black dress, but we w ill see it again and again, because it’s classic and extremely flattering. Jazz your LBD up with a pair of brightly colored shoes, like Mandy Moore did with bright red heels. It adds a pop of color to an otherwise plain color palette.

You’ll leave an impression long after you’ve left a party with the right fragrance. Jo Malone London’s Cologne Collection ($95, Jomalone.com) allows you to layer non-clashing perfumes for a scent that is truly your own. If heading to a sit-down dinner, the ladies at Jo Malone London recommend you wear a citrus scent, which won’t overpower your neighbor or compete with the smell of the delicious food.

Staying out late and snacking on party trays will leave you feeling bloated and gross after a while. Always make the time to get a good workout in, whether it’s 30 minutes of cardio or a more intense routine, like Tracy Anderson’s Metamorphosis ($89.97, Tracyandersonmethod.com). Kate Hudson is just one of Tracy’s celebrity clients, and she always looks hot and healthy on the red carpet.

There’s nothing wrong with a couple glasses of celebratory champagne or spiked apple cider, but only drink on a full stomach and watch your intake. There’s nothing less hot than the drunk girl at a fancy party. In the morning, detox your body with Skinnygirl Green Lemonade ($46.99, GNC.com). The once-a-day cleanse will help rid your body of toxins and improve digestion. Cheers to that!
