Neon nail polish made an appearance for the second year in a row, as did the ’80s revival in the fashion and accessory world. AnnaLynne McCord was a huge fan of the trend, wearing every color from neon yellow to electric blue to events. While we do love brightly colored nail polish, we wouldn’t mind leaving this retina-scarring trend in 2010.

The trend was hot on the runways at Fall 2010 Fashion Week, and then celebrities like Katy Perry started rocking the fierce look. Perry wore this curly yet edgy hairstyle to the 2010 VMAs. By November; however, Perry had already moved on to long (long) extensions and a single hair color. We hope you used temporary dye.

Our intrepid Beauty Editor Megan was able to try this look as part of a “Runway to Real Life” experiment, but if we didn’t know about the experiment, we probably would have questioned her sanity and owning of a mirror when she arrived at work that day. Save this eyeliner look for going out at night if you’re really that attached to it.

What is greige? One of the hottest nail polish colors of fall 2010, seen here on Jessica Alba. Also, exactly what it sounds like: Gray + beige. Neutrals like greige and taupe made a big comeback on nails this fall. Luckily, so did deep purples and blues. Can you tell which polishes we preferred?
