Who’s Who At The Grammy Awards
Did you watch the Superbowl or read the news recently? Christina Aguilera had a bit of a problem with the lyrics of our National Anthem in front of over 100 million people on Super Sunday. Therefore, we highly suggest she have the lyrics in front of her during the tribute to Aretha Franklin in which she’s performing at the Grammys. No shame in that game, Christina.

One of the year’s breakout singers whose omnipresent song “TiK ToK” was undoubtedly stuck in your head for two months straight, Ke$ha, has been quoted as saying she will pick up roadkill and turn it into an outfit, and she even showed up at the VMAs in a garbage bag dress that she got at Home Depot. The next logical step would be to comb an actual garbage dump for an outfit. You’ve gotta admire her ingenuity, we guess.

The reigning queen of pop (and current Vogue covergirl) and head diva are nominated for their epic single, “Telephone.” No matter who they actually bring to the show (Lady Gaga will probably bring Snuffalafagus or some other puppet as her date; Beyonce will most likely bring hubby Jay-Z), this fierce pairing still gets our vote for best couple on Grammy night.

Lady Antebellum is a massive country star, and you’ve probably heard her hit, “Need You Now.” Nevertheless, it’s kind of an unfortunate moment as a singer for your stage name to start with “Lady.” Cause of, you know, that other Lady (Gaga). It also doesn’t help that Lady Antebellum wears a lot of black, while that other Lady wears everything from outfits made out of meat to feather head dresses.

Rihanna and Eminem are nominated in several categories for “Love the Way You Lie,” in which Rihanna sings about an abusive relationship. The maniacal expression on her face in the video and huge, frizzy curls she sported on a recent night out remind us of another notorious crazed redhead: The Simpson’s Sideshow Bob.

When the Glee diva and former Broadway star sang “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from the Streisand classic Funny People, it was a match made in vocal heaven. Both Lea Michele and Barbra Streisand will forever be known for their unconventional looks and amazing vocal range and talent. They’re also both Grammy nominees this year!

Gwyneth Paltrow is not only married to a singer, she recently decided that she is one. First, she played a country star in Country Strong, and then Paltrow belted out several numbers on Glee. Now, she’ll be hitting the stage at the Grammys for what sounds like the most bizarre and random performance ever: Gwyneth Paltrow, Cee Lo Green and the Muppets. Yes, the Muppets. (But remember, the last time Kermit was at an award show, he was Lady Gaga’s date, so…upgrade!)

Katy Perry is everywhere these days, as is her song “Firework” (hey, television promos for everything ever, let’s give another song a chance). And wherever Katy Perry goes, so do Katy Perry’s boobs. The singer has never met a cleavage-baring dress or top she didn’t like–even for an appearance on Sesame Street. Imagine if she showed up to the Grammys in a dark-colored, high-necked blouse? Nah, it’ll never happen.

Paramore is nominated for Best Pop Performance, and lead singer Hayley Williams is also nominated for Best Pop Collaboration for her song “Airplanes” with B.o.B. and Eminem. Except that Paramore is kind of no more. Williams and bandmates Josh and Zac Farro had a horrible falling out in 2010, which culminated in Josh insulting Williams in a lengthy blog post. If the Farros show up on Grammy night, it’s going to be quite awkward.

Perhaps you’ve heard of this show on FOX about a high school glee club where even though the characters on the show are supposed to be outcasts, the actors who play them are anything but. Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Jenna Uskowitz are some of the hottest actresses in the biz these days, and now they could possibly win a Grammy if their version of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” triumphs on the big night.
