A pint of Guinness is a must on St. Patrick’s Day. Apart from being an essential ingredient in Irish Car Bombs, you can also use this tasty beer to make your hair shiny and soft like Zooey Deschanel. Shampoo hair as usual, then pour a pint of Guinness onto wet hair. Let sit for a minute, then rinse and condition as usual. Hello silky soft locks!

While everyone else is hiding their pots of gold (or maybe that’s just leprechauns), flaunt yours by wearing a gilded smoky eye like Carrie Underwood. Yves Saint Laurent National Makeup Artist Dell Ashley says to start by using black liner at the base of the lash lines and around the upper and lower lid. Smudge a dark bronze shadow over the liner and on lid, then redefine the lash line with black pencil. Finish with Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara in Noir Radical for the long, thick, false lashes look.

It will wash out in just 28 shampoos and won’t leave you with an embarassing root line.

Or, get creative and try drawing a tiny shamrock on your nails. Sally Hansen’s Nail Art Pen has a thin, press-point tip that makes it easy to draw artsy designs on your digits.

Aussie actress Renee Bargh has the right idea for a stunning St. Patrick’s Day hairstyle–get your braid on! To get this look, Liam Carey, a stylist at the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in NYC, says to separate your hair into two sections. Take a small section of the hair from the right side and cross it over to the left. Repeat on the other side, moving your way down and overlapping the two small sections as you work to the end. The smaller the subsections the smaller the braid will appear.
