Nails That Will Make Everyone Jealous

We spotted some seriously cool, DIY-able nails at Fashion Week, and we’re dying to try them. This manicure from Nicole Miller is easier to create than it looks. CND’s Candice Manacchio started with a mint green base, then used a sponge to apply pink and white polishes and CND Sapphire Sparkle Effect. To finish, she painted around the edges with black polish (CND’s Black Jack) to create a diamond shape. Runway Hair And Makeup You’ll Actually Want To WearPhoto: Courtesy of CND

Another sponged design echoed the Hawaiian theme at Mara Hoffman. Nail artist Honey for Maybelline applied Color Show Nail Lacquer in Styled Out with a sponge to mimic ocean waves. So simple, so pretty. 4 Fall Makeup Looks You Have To TryPhoto: via maybelline.tumblr.com

The Blonds had a beachy inspiration, too—with a twist. CND’s Kristina Estabrook created these shark bite nails to complement the “psycho beach party” theme (we’re keeping these on file for Shark Week). Try using a skinny “striper” nail brush or an old eyeliner brush to make graphic designs doable. Mascara That Creates A Cat-EyePhoto: Courtesy of CND

Party time! This “fairy dust” manicure is like an instant fiesta for your fingertips. CND’s Shelena Robinson created a glitter fade by painting on clear Air Dry Top Coat and dabbing on fine glitter with an art brush. Applying loose glitter with a brush lets you control the effect better than a glitter topcoat would. 10 Makeup Tricks Every Girl Should KnowPhoto: Courtesy of CND

A solid color can make as big an impact as a nail art design—especially when it goes this well with your bag. Manicurists from Haven Spa coated tips with Essie classic Mint Candy Apple. As our reigning favorite springtime shade, we’re glad this blue-green is sticking around for another season. Get The Look: Kristen Stewart’s Stunning MakeupPhoto: Luca Cannonieri/GoRunway.com

In a sea of fleshy pinks and nudes, bright white was a standout on Rag & Bone’s runway. Jin Soon Choi for Revlon coated models’ nails with Revlon Top Speed in Spirit (out in January) for a grown-up version of the study hall white-out manicure (remember those?). Picnic nails, anyone? At Kate Spade, nail artist Deborah Lippmann created these gingham manicures on talon-like stiletto nails. Over a white polish base, Lippmann used a striper brush with her My Prerogative blue to paint intersecting lines. Off the runway, we plan to recreate these on a shorter shape with a similar print—and to use Scotch tape to keep our stripes straight. Never Buy Another Bad Beauty Product AgainPhoto: Getty Images

We love this diagonal stripe in lieu of French tips, as seen at Lauren Moffatt. OPI manicurists painted nails with two coats of nude Don’t Touch My Tutu before adding a strip of red-orange A Roll in the Hague. Now it’s your turn: which one will you try?
