The Weekly Gloss-Over:
3 Wives And A Workout
With all the fun events we attend each week, it’s only fair that we share a peek into our makeup-spackled world. Tuesday night I was invited to attend a L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth event. I was pleasantly surprised to see a spread of new/recently released products and even got to play around with a few. My absolute favorite was the Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Waterproof Mascara ($8.95, Lorealparisusa.com). Before the night’s end, brand spokesperson Julianna Marguiles came out to present L’Oréal’s Women of Worth honorees and tell us about some of the amazing things they are doing within their communities. Turns out beauty mixed with a bit of philanthropy makes for a pretty spectacular night!
I headed over to Whole Foods’ Tap Room on Wednesday for a product launch of Nourish. Although the brand ambassador was kept a secret, I found out upon arrival that it was Christine Taylor, who is just as stunning in real life as she is in movies and photos. She talked about her love for the line, which is USDA Certified Organic (and all under $10!). One of the best moments was Christine talking about her role on Friends as Phoebe’s bald friend, Bonnie. Remember those episodes?
Fashionable 90s Shows We Wish Would Come Back
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s my love for everything Real Housewives. To call it an obsession would be putting it lightly, so you can imagine my excitement when Ultherapy invited me to meet their fan, Jacqueline Laurita from Real Housewives of New Jersey. Not only did I get to see how their non-invasive face lifting treatment works, but I got to ask Jacqueline all of my juicy RHONJ questions. And in case you’re wondering, yes, she is coming to this season’s finale.
5 Fun Facts About Bethenny Frankel and Skinnygirl Skincare
While I usually love sleeping in on the weekends, I ventured out early (ok, 11 am), to meet Caroline and Shannon for Self Magazine‘s annual Self Workout In The Park. We crammed in with 800 other women to sample a mix of workouts. We exercised our lower bodies with Rock Bottom and then (badly) danced to a 90s Fly Girl workout routine. Our hardest class, by far, was the CrossFit Workout of the Day. For 20 minutes, we pushed our bodies to the max and, as a result, are still feeling it today. It was hot outside, we were wiped out at the end, but it was fun and totally worth it.
