Just because you’re hitting 40, doesn’t mean you need to cover up your lovely legs. In fact, a new study released by a British clothing store, Debenhams, says women in their 40s are wearing much shorter skirts than ladies in their 30s.
The study, which observed hemline lengths of various age groups, said women’s skirts were roughly 14 inches long between the ages of 40-45. When the same study was conducted in 2009, skirts only stayed that short until women reached the big 4-0. Needless to say, young ladies in their early 20s still wear the shortest minis, but as they get older, particularly into their 30s, hemlines lengthen. Then 40 hits, and skirts get shorter once more.
With leading ladies like Jennifer Aniston, 43 and Jennifer Lopez, 42, staying in shape and keeping their legs toned, we fully support the decision to keep the minis short. Hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it!
